We continue our spring high school previews and projections with a look at 15 "Picks to Click" as we inch closer to the 2026 baseball season. Highlighted in these stories are players that we believe are in contention for "Player of the Year" or "Pitcher of the Year" and we will give a detailed analysis, including video on each. Without further ado, the next player we would like to highlight is East Carolina University commit Braeden Martin from Archbishop Spalding.

Braeden Martin SS / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2026

You’re going to be hard pressed to find a more technically sound baseball player across Maryland, and the East Carolina commit looks to build off of a stellar high school career with a huge senior campaign.

A leader on the field, Martin is the experienced shortstop who showcases impact ability on both sides of the ball, and some added thump in the barrel offensively this spring could see the left-handed stick turn into one of the more feared hitters in the state. A high contact, high average type, Martin has always possessed “sneaky” doubles power and should continue that as the catalyst in the Archbishop Spalding lineup. Clean, reliable defense and a consistent jolt offensively, look for Martin to have a breakout senior campaign in 2026.
