2026 Albertville Aggies Team Preview

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Albertville enters the 2026 season looking to reset and build momentum after a challenging 2025 campaign that ended with an 8-27 record and no postseason appearance. While the results didn’t fall their way a year ago, the Aggies gained valuable experience that should pay dividends moving forward, especially with a young roster that continues to develop at the varsity level. The focus this spring will be on growth, consistency, and establishing a stronger identity in the always-demanding Class 7A, Area 7.

The returning core is highlighted by OF/RHP Bralyn Baugh (2027), a returning All-Area selection who gives Albertville a proven impact player on both sides of the ball. His presence provides a key building block as the Aggies look to take steps forward. Around him, INF/RHP Thomas Evan Johnson (2026), INF/RHP Britt Carroll (2027), and INF/RHP Saylor Waldrop (2027) add versatility and depth across the infield and on the mound, giving the staff multiple options to mix and match as roles continue to take shape. The program will also lean on its next wave of talent, including INF/RHP Graham Howell (2029), who represents the type of young piece Albertville hopes can grow into a bigger role as the season progresses.

Looking ahead, the Aggies’ biggest strength projects to be their defense, which will serve as the foundation as they continue to develop on both sides of the ball. With a young roster gaining experience and a few key returners leading the way, the Aggies will look to lay the groundwork for sustained improvement. If Albertville can continue to play strong defensively and see growth from its young core, the Aggies should begin to see that development translate into better results on the field.
