2026 Enterprise Wildcats Team Preview

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Enterprise enters the 2026 season coming off a historic 34-3 campaign that ended with a runner-up finish in the Class 7A state finals against Tuscaloosa County. It was a breakthrough year for the Wildcats, who established themselves as one of the top programs in the state and proved they can compete deep into May. With plenty of postseason experience returning, Enterprise looks to build on that momentum and position itself for another run through a challenging Class 7A schedule.

The Wildcats bring back a strong core on both sides of the ball. LHP/OF Brady Cavanaugh (Shelton State CC, 2026) returns as a centerpiece in the middle of the lineup and the go-to arm on the mound, while RHP/INF Davis Shiver (2026) is projected to set the tone at the top of the order and be a key part of the rotation. OF Walker Turner (2026) gives Enterprise another proven middle-of-the-order bat and a steady presence on the offensive side. The supporting cast is deep and versatile, with 1B Kaden Hirsch (2026), OF Hayes Woodall (2026), RHP Lint Sawyer (2026), C Drew Danner (2027), SS Brody Rhoades (2027), 3B Eli Richardson (2027), and OF Caleb Harper (2027) all expected to play meaningful roles. A talented underclass group featuring OF Brayden Barnes (2028), LHP/OF Barrett Upton (2028), RHP Jace Trull (2029), and OF/RHP Hayes Weber (2029) adds athleticism and upside, while the projected lineup and pitching staff suggest a team that should be strong up the middle and anchored by experienced arms.

Looking ahead, Enterprise’s identity will again be built around consistency, depth, and the ability to handle a demanding schedule as the season progresses. The focus will be on continuing to develop pitching depth and making sure the team is playing its best baseball late in the spring. As head coach Marty Lovrich put it, “I think we will be a team that gets better as the year goes on. We have a very challenging schedule which should help us be prepared in late April and early May. We will have to develop some depth on the mound as the year goes on. We have several players who played in State Finals last year that should be prepared for what's in store for 2026.”
