Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.
Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK
Saraland enters the 2026 season coming off a 21-11 campaign that ended in the Sweet 16, falling to eventual runner-up Chelsea. That postseason run highlighted both the Spartans’ competitiveness in Class 6A and the growth of a roster that leaned heavily on young arms a year ago. Now, with a senior-heavy group returning and a pitching staff that gained valuable experience in 2025, Saraland looks positioned to take another step forward this spring.
The backbone of this team is an experienced, college-committed core that should provide stability on both sides of the ball. Behind the plate, C Hudson Robbins (Central Alabama CC, 2026) anchors the defense, while the infield is led by 3B Bryce Rivers (Nicholls State, 2026) and INF P.J. Brown (West Alabama, 2026), two veteran bats who bring consistency and experience. In the outfield, OF Christian Farni (Oglethorpe, 2026) and LHP/OF Sye Byrd (2027) add athleticism and versatility. On the mound, Saraland returns a deep group of arms, including RHP/1B Jacob Rowell (Meridian CC, 2026), RHP D’tric Butler (West Alabama, 2026), RHP/OF Brody Lambert (2026), RHP Cade Mason (2027), and RHP/OF Brody Jacobi (Jones CC, 2027), with additional depth from LHP Christian Rice (2026) and RHP Gabe Turner (2027). That group logged significant innings last season as underclassmen and now forms the core of a staff that should be both deeper and more reliable. The next wave is also ready to contribute, with SS Easton Cook (2028), LHP/OF Brayden Gunter (2028), C Lawson Nelson (2028), and OF McLain Byrd (2029) giving the Spartans young talent that can be mixed in throughout the lineup.
Looking ahead, Saraland’s strengths start with its experience and depth on the mound, as well as the presence of 12 seniors who have been through the grind of a 6A schedule. With a more seasoned pitching staff and the potential to be more consistent offensively, the Spartans believe they have a chance to be more complete as a team in 2026. If the arms continue to set the tone and the lineup takes a step forward collectively, Saraland has the pieces in place to push beyond last year’s Sweet 16 finish and make a deeper run this postseason.
