2026 Lee-Scott Academy Warriors Team Preview

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Lee-Scott Academy enters the 2026 season coming off a strong 25-13 campaign that ended with an Elite 8 appearance, a run that reinforced the program’s status as a consistent contender in Class 3A playing in their first season at the AHSAA level. With that postseason experience now in their back pocket, the Warriors bring back a deep and athletic group that expects to build on last spring’s success. The foundation is in place for another competitive year, especially with so many contributors returning on both sides of the ball.

The core of this team is built around a veteran group of upperclassmen who provide experience throughout the lineup and on the mound. OF Easton Gregory (2026) gives the Warriors an athletic presence in the outfield, while INF/RHP Ethan Hardee (2026) and RHP Davis MacIsaac (2026) return as important arms and two-way contributors. INF Haiden Harper (2026) adds stability on the infield, and 3B/RHP Barrett Cook (2027) brings another versatile piece capable of impacting games at the plate and on the mound. The pitching staff is further strengthened by LHP Braden Martin (2027), while behind the plate, C Harrison Snow (2027) and C Rylan Smith (2027) give Lee-Scott Academy reliable depth and experience at catcher. The Warriors also feature an impressive wave of young talent that adds both depth and upside. RHP/OF Turner Underwood (2028) headlines a group of underclassmen who will be pushing for bigger roles, joined by C Jack Bright (2030), UTL Logan Wilson (2030), 3B/RHP Trenter Johnson (2029), SS Owen England (2029), C/RHP Andrew Owen (2030), and LHP/1B Layton Caldwell (2030). This group, along with UTL Griffin Gaston (2027) and 1B Brooks Zachry (2027), gives the roster depth across the field and multiple options as the season progresses.

Looking ahead, Lee-Scott Academy’s strengths remain its experience, athleticism, and unity as a group. With a roster that blends proven varsity contributors and talented young pieces, the Warriors are positioned to be competitive again in 3A and push for another deep postseason run. As head coach Jarrod Cook put it, “We are excited about the journey ahead. Our group is hungry and ready to go compete.” If that hunger translates into consistent play, Lee-Scott Academy has the makeup of a team that can be tough to beat when the games matter most.
