2026 High School Team Preview: Jefferson Dragons

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Despite losing two big-time arms in the rotation, the Dragons return a plethora of experienced, athletic depth across the field paired with some new faces looking to make instant impact, and look to be positioned nicely for another deep playoff run. Coach Hardy has the luxury of an all-senior infield including multiple multi-year starters on the left-side in SS Daniel Coker and 3B Jackson Sims, who bring high-floor profiles that impact this lineup both in the field and at the plate. More seniors in 2B Cody Britt and 1B/RHP Kade Seabolt will likely round out the infield, while Seabolt will be a major two-way role as he will likely hold down a main rotation spot. Athleticism stands out in the outfield with three talented upperclassmen in seniors Ryan Reed, Reece Romans and junior Eli Primm. All three offer high-level power/speed combos alongside impact defense that should be the main engine for this squad. Junior C Dylan Verdi only furthers the quality defense and should be a big factor for this pitching staff this spring. RHP/QB1 Boone Horn steps off the gridiron and can be an immediate impact for the rotation while many other pieces could contribute including freshman RHP/3B Landry Boling who can be an x-factor with real two-way tools. Sophomore SS Jackson Beasley and freshman RHP/OF Michael Rylee are two more underclassmen with a chance to be a factor early for the Dragons.
