Peachtree Rising Stars ID- Quick Hits

Hudson Riehn, C/OF, 2032, Pike County
It was a potent showing in all facets for Riehn as he led the event in a majority of categories. At the plate, the LHH was all over the barrel and hammered baseballs to the pull-side (375ft.- Event Best) with ease throughout the round of BP. Strength in the hands stands out with excellent leverage through the zone and balance alike. Produced a max (96.1) exit velocity which led the event as well. Athletic actions defensively with budding arm strength and posted a 68 C velo.

Connor Willing, OF/RHP, 2031, Starr’s Mill
Willing consistently backspinned baseballs to the pull-side with some feel to go the other way throughout the round. Leverages the long-limbed frame well with more to project down the line. Ability to create separation with some barrel length in-zone. Finished the round with a max (86.4) exit velocity.

Rowan Searcy, SS/C, 2031, Starr’s Mill
Strong look across the board with obvious projection in the frame for Searcy. The RHH stays simple at the plate with quiet, strong hands and budding feel for the barrel as he generates strength from the ground-up. Finished the round with a max (88.9) exit velocity. Quality actions with defensive versatility as well.

Eli Hester, OF/RHP, 2031, Veterans
A loud round and strong arm was on display for Hester as the smooth swinging lefty presented comfort all around the field. Eli shows a twitchy swing with hands working down to and up through the ball, producing quality back spin in the gaps and 41.2% LD rate. Using BBCOR, Hester still generated a 77.8 mph exit velocity which is upper-percentile for the Class of 2031. From the outfield, Hester had the strongest arm averaging 73 mph and stayed on target. A compact 5-foot-3 and strong 138 pounds, Hester can expect to show development as he prepares for the HS level.

Gavin Wunsch, OF/RHP, 2031, Houston County
Wunsch showed impressive bat to ball ability alongside his rotational swing, presenting an overall athletic feel. An upward attack angle helped to maintain an even plane resulting in equal amounts of GB/LD/FB. Coupled with his efficient bath pathing, the swing was a quick and simple motion, easily repeated. As he continues to develop and mature, Wunsch is well-positioned to thrive within the respected Houston County system.

Andrew Cooper, LHP/OF, 2031, Starr’s Mill
Cooper showed impressive bat to ball skills, with sneaky juice in the bat. EV of 88.3 and a good feel for the strike zone. Simple actions in the box, as the barrel stays through the zone and on plane. Ability to hit to all fields with good pull side power. Cooper has room to feel out the body and a chance to be a really good hitter. Also pitched and was all over the strike zone with good pitchability. A versatile athlete with a chance to help you around the diamond.
