2026 KSHSAA Team Preview: Olathe South Falcons
February 6, 2026
The Kansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 19, opening day for regular season action under KSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Kansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Coach’s Insight: “Our team is full of competitive individuals who play the game the right way and with great effort. Our lineup should be competitive 1-9 with some very high upside players. Our defense, which was a strength last year, should be improved as we return the majority of our team. Our pitching would be our biggest unknown. I believe we have the pitchers to be great on the mound, but there are very few returning pitchers who threw for us last year. It will be a great opportunity for our guys to focus on daily improvement and to attack hitters with their best stuff every opportunity they get.” – Jeff Boyd, head coach
