2026 Seattle Preseason ID - Quick Hits
February 11, 2026
On Sunday February 8th, Prep Baseball Washington hosted the Seattle Preseason ID at Big League Edge in Kent. Prep Baseball scouts evaluated high school athletes in the 2026-2030 graduating classes, with several strong showings throughout the event.
Preseason ID events serve as an identifier heading into the spring high school season, providing Prep Baseball scouts and college recruiters a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage. We also tend to see prospects’ best performances in the preseason, as most athletes are fresh and coming off of strict and targeted off-season training programs that have resulted in big gains. Standout performances can lead to invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events, including the Pacific Northwest State Games, Prep Baseball Future Games, and more.
Today, we release our Quick Hits, detailing scouting notes on standout players. Players are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned the remained of this week for complete event coverage. For all other post-event content, click here.
Seattle Preseason ID
Quick Hits
'27 INF Tate Bagley (Roosevelt)
Powerful 6'3 frame improved several of his metrics since his previous showcase look. Showcased a smoother RH swing with a slightly open set into a toe-tap load before firing through the zone. Was on the barrel throughout with a peak exit velocity of 96.8 MPH and an average EV of 90.4 MPH. More of a corner infield type defensively with longer-limbed actions and throws up to 84 MPH across the dirt.
'27 OF Trevor Barthelmes (Sumner)
Junior with strength evenly distributed in his 6'1 frame. Athleticism that translated in the defensive and running portions in the workout, where he showed clean actions in the outfield and ran a 3.83 30 time, the second best time of the event. Offensively, the righty sets in a balanced, square lower half, maintaining a tighter turn through contact. The ball jumped off the bat at contact with a firm front side and a controlled two-handed finish shown. Worked exit velocities up to 97.4 MPH, displaying consistent ability to drive the ball in the air up to 370 feet. Barthelmes should compete for a starting spot in what should be an incredibly talented Sumner lineup this spring.
'27 OF/INF Patrick Crowley (Newport)
A standout athlete with top of the order tools, Crowley led the ID event in several major statistical categories. The junior posted a 3.76 30 time, paired with over a 24 inch vertical jump height and throws into the upper 80's from both the infield and outfield. Offensively, the bat flashed when finding the barrel, with a flatter barrel approach angle and acceleration through contact. Crowley showcased some added power and strength since his previous showcase look, setting personal bests with a 97.4 MPH peak exit velocity and a 362 foot max batted ball distance. The junior should be a key contributor for a Newport side with intriguing young talent.
'28 C Oliver Farmer (Ballard)
Another player who could be a breakout varsity contributor this spring, Farmer's sturdy-strong frame with shorter levers played well behind the dish. The catching actions were clean with a best pop time of 2.05 seconds, with a more compact 3/4 slot release resulting in some tail on throws at times. Offensively, Farmer was one of two players to post triple digit exit velocities, peaking at 100.1 MPH while averaging over 90 MPH in consistent BP rounds. The swing played well to the big part of the field with some bat speed present. Sophomore to follow.
'29 INF/RHP Greyson Garza (Steilacoom)
Garza's arm talent and athleticism stood out in a big way this weekend. The rising Freshman has an athletic build with lean strength and is a loose, fluid mover in all facets. Posted an exceptional 3.91s in the 30 with quality RSI agility metrics to match. After touching 86 mph during the INF workout, he jumped onto the mound and showed some electric arm action and exciting projectablity. Pitched 83.4 - 84.5 with the FB at 2,400 - 2,500 rpm. Riding life from a lower release point. SL has the makings of a plus offering with tight shape and late sweep in the zone. Ball comes out of hand easily with an athletic finish and decel out at release. Impressive talent in the 2029 class.
'27 RHP Evan Kim (Tahoma)
Tall, projectable arm at 6'1, around 170-175 with a strong lower half. Kim led the event on Sunday with a peak FB up to 87.3 mph. FB ranged 84.5 - 86.6 overall and there's plenty of reason to believe more velocity is on the way as he continues to develop. Moves easily through his mechanics, showing a deep gather into his back hip and a controlled drift down the mound while keeping his weight stacked over the rubber. Lands with some slight cross action but has the mobility to work over his front side and get extension at release. Longer, more full arm action with a smooth, continuous path and high 3/4 release. Overall, could be an arm that puts together a strong 2026 campaign as he gets more innings and seasoning throughout the year.
'27 C Aiden Kramlich (Kentlake)
Medium-framed junior with room to add showed well defensively, producing throws on and around the bag with a best catcher pop time of 1.96 seconds. Showed minimal wasted movement when framing as well. Offensively, Kramlich sits with a slight bend in his knees, with an upper half coil in sync with a lower leg stride. The righty generated some loft at contact and drove the ball in the air consistently with exit velocities into the low 90's.
'27 C Ryder Oswalt (Eastlake)
Stocky framed backstop carries a heavier barrel through the zone, with some present strength to produce loud contact on a line in BP rounds. Sets with hands quiet over rear shoulder in a relaxed stance, retracting hands into a hitting position quickly before firing. Flatter bat path through the zone, catching the ball out front with a higher two-handed finish. Worked exit velocities up to 95 MPH. Defensively, Oswalt was one of a few catchers to post a sub-2 second pop, with a 1.99 second time as his best.
'27 RHP/INF Rowan Robertson (Lincoln)
Robertson put together a 2-way workout, showcasing both in the INF and on the bump. The arm stood out on the day with 84 mph across the diamond and then a peak FB up to 85.3 mph. Works from a lower 3/4 slot with a long, continuous arm swing and an athletic finish out at release. Anchors himself with a strong lower half and balanced moved down the slope. CB stood out as a s/m pitch with tight, lateral shape and hard spin out of hand. CH shows promise was well with above average arm-side run/fade. Intriguing 3 pitch arsenal with feel for the zone.
'28 C Xander Spence (Mountlake Terrace)
The switch hitting sophomore posted some intriguing Blast metrics to produce loud contact at the dish, leading the event in hand speed while producing over 70 MPH bat speed as well. The lean-framed prospect also led the event with a 101.7 MPH peak exit velocity with a 355 foot batted ball distance. As common with most switch hitters, the RHH is a bit more compact and a flatter barrel path and he shows slightly more loft/lift from the left-side. Spence was consistent on his throws to second during his catching defense, ranging in pop times from 2.00-2.08 seconds.
'27 RHP Ryan Sundby (Glacier Peak)
Big bodied arm at 6'4 with a high waisted frame and ideal pitcher's build. Working with a quicker paced delivery, Sundby does a nice job staying tall through his throwing motion and maintaining a shorter, more compact arm path into a high 3/4 release. Deceptively quick hand speed creates late hop out of hand. FB topped 85.9 with much more in the tank given his size and ability to carry more weight. Spins both a CB and SL with 2 distinct shapes and above average spin. CH gives him a quality 4th offering with heavier life and downer action. Overall, moves very easily for a bigger bodied arm and checks a lot of boxes for the type of pitching prospect who tends to make big gains towards and back half of their HS years.
