2026 High School Team Preview: John Milledge Academy Trojans

Ian Smith
Assistant Scouting Director

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

With 2 GIAA titles in the last 4 years and another final-four run last spring, the Trojans know what it takes to win and return an intriguing blend of experience/youth that can carry this team back to another deep playoff run. Despite this roster graduating 5 seniors, the upperclass talent returning for the Trojans will be important and it starts with a senior duo in OF Bradyn Harrison and 3B/RHP Graysen Paradise, who are two of the top returning bats from a year ago with big-time leadership roles this spring in the both in the outfield and infield. More seniors in SS Bryce McDonel and C Cohen Brooks got their feet wet last spring in part-times and will now get a chance to make an impact starting day one. LHP/QB1 Lewis Chaney is an uncommitted senior looking to bring a major impact to the top of the rotation after losing 3 key contributors from last year and can be a difference maker alongside another LHP in senior Brooks Lattimer. Paradise and Brooks will likely have an impact on the mound as well in two-way roles. Even with the depth of senior talent, the underclassmen will be vital for this roster and it starts with 2028 OF Asa Wall. The UGA football commit is the hot returning bat for the Trojans after hitting .351 while showing some power/speed impact. A freshman pair in C Lane Rhodes, who hit .300+ as an 8th grader on varsity and OF Gus Cummings bring even more youth energy and talent that can take this team to the next level. Coach Bradley will have this team to match or improve on the 23 wins from a year ago, and fully expect another deep playoff run down in Milledgeville.
