Jackson Lee, 3B/RHP, 2028, Landmark Christian
I’ve been quite bullish on the profile and makeup for quite some time now as it has only gotten better with each look. Athletic 5-foot-10 frame with present athleticism and wiry strength throughout along with a high-level hit tool. The sophomore was the focal point for the Landmark offense as he went 2-for-2 with 2 singles, 2 BB, and 2 RBI. The switch-hitter creates great separation at the plate with ability to stay balanced and feel to manipulate the barrel in-zone. Fluid, fast hands with immense barrel feel and great use of the entire field stand out. The approach for Lee, an ultra-competitor in the box, has always looked the part with very little swing-and-miss and advanced zone awareness, and ability to handle velo/spin. Two-way profile was on display as well as he pitched 3.0 IP of 1-run ball which were pivotal for the War Eagles as they took down Trinity Christian for the first time in eight years. Fastball shows arm-side run through the zone at 82-84. Curveball creates depth at 70-71 and plays well of the fastball. Splitter mixed in at 71-72 with tumble. Lee set the tone for the season with a breakout well under way and will be a must know name come August 1st.
Evan Osterman, SS/RHP, 2026, Trinity Christian
Oglethorpe commit. Osterman look the part in all facets both out of the leadoff spot and on the bump. Huge strength in the physical, athletic 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame and set the tone out of the lead-off. Launched a clutch 2-run HR to the pull-side off low 90’s velo as he shows a quick trigger with present barrel feel and leverage through the zone. On the mound, Osterman is armed with pitchability and showed well in a quality look. Fastball lived 84-86 with sink and life through the zone. Slider played well off it with feel to land for both strikes and chase at 72-74. Mixed in a changeup as well. The senior looks poised to lead the way for the Lions this Spring with a strong two-way profile.
Taylor Casson, RHP/OF, 2026, Landmark Christian
South Florida commit. The right-hander squared off against Landmark’s cross-town rivals and produced a quality showing on both sides of the ball. Physical, athletic 6-foot-4, 193-pound frame with real arm speed and sky-high projection. Casson kept the War Eagles in it as he competed across 4.0 IP. Longer operation and leverages the frame extremely well to create excellent extension down the mound. Fastball lived 91-93 (T94) with life out of the hand and jumped on hitters. Sinker sat 89-92 with present feel to land on the inner half to RHH. Swing-and-miss on the slider at 77-81 with late-bite and some feel to manipulate shape. Changeup mixed in at 83-86 as well. At the plate, Casson came through with a big backside knock in the first inning as well. Ability to stay balanced with strength in the hands stands out in an all-fields approach. Casson will hold true two-way impact this Spring and could be a name to monitor come July.
Jacob Sherrill, LHP, 2028, Milton
This was a first look at Sherrill and he really looked the part both at the plate and on the mound. He was first in relief and kept Milton in a close game against a good hitting Cambridge team. It comes from a high ¾ with really good action and heavy arm side run. He dominated early with the fastball in the low 80’s, not really needing to go to the off speed stuff. After the first he started breaking out the off speed and really started to settle in. The delivery is at a controlled pace with some intent on the finish. He gets offline with his head pulling off at the end of the delivery, but his arm slot allows him to still stay through the baseball. Sherrill has a strong base to build on and should see a plentiful amount of innings for the Eagles this spring.
Ethan Rasper, RHP, 2027, Cambridge
Uncommitted. We got a chance to see Rasper during the Preseason and he carried that momentum straight into the home opener. He got called on out of the pen in a 1-1 game, and came up with a big out to keep the tie. He then proceeded to go the distance and shut the door in the 7th to clinch the opening day win. The fastball was in the low 80’s, touching 85 and lived in the lower half of the zone. He mixed in a curveball for strikes at 68-70 and change up that had really good action off the fastball at 76-77. I think Rasper is just scratching the surface of his ability on the mound with much more to tap into with the 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame.
