2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Edmond North Huskies
February 9, 2026
The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.
Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Coach’s Insight: “We will return a lot of guys. Offensively and defensively we have quite a bit of experience to lean on. Pitching does have some depth. We will really rely on pitchers competing in the zone and pitching to contact. Experience and depth will be our biggest strengths. Top end arm may be the biggest question mark. We do not have a lot of swing and miss type stuff pitchers.” – Matt Allen, head coach
Outlook: The Edmond North Huskies come into 2026 with high expectations coming off a state tournament appearance a year ago that saw them upset regional host Edmond Memorial. They return valuable pieces from their lineup that should make them dynamic offensively with speed and extra base hit potential. They battled inconsistency early in the season with youth and inexperience at the varsity level, but paid dividends down the stretch. Returning numerous players from a lineup that developed throughout the spring will be huge in 2026. On the mound, the Huskies return valuable experience that should pitch to contact and allow their defense to make plays. A steady, fundamental baseball team that will make all the routine plays and not beat themselves. Especially strong through the middle of the field, Coach Allen's squad shouldn't sneak up on anyone as they look to get off to a fast start in 2026.
