2026 OUTLOOK
+ Giles County enters the 2026 season looking to take a step forward after an 11–18 campaign, returning a young but promising core that logged meaningful varsity reps a year ago. Under head coach Dustin Hill, the Bobcats bring back a roster heavy with 2027 talent, giving the program continuity across the diamond and a chance to grow together as they compete in District 12AAA.
The lineup is built around athleticism and emerging bats, starting with Damarie Holt (2027), who projects to set the tone near the top of the order while also serving as one of the team’s primary arms. Holt’s ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball makes him a key piece as Giles County looks to generate offense and cover innings. Rhett Hayes (2027) provides a steady presence in the heart of the lineup after hitting .351 last season, bringing barrel control and run-producing ability to the middle of the order.
Case Daly (2027) adds physicality at first base while also contributing on the mound, and Hudson Nivens (2027) offers versatility in the middle infield with two-way value. Weston Brumit (2027) brings range and athleticism to center field, while Drew McLemore (2026) anchors the left side of the infield and projects as a major contributor both defensively and on the bump. Clayton Mosley provides stability behind the plate, and Owen Jarrell adds another corner-infield option with two-way upside.
On the mound, Giles County will lean on a committee approach, with McLemore, Holt, Jarrell, Daly, and Hayes all expected to shoulder innings. That group gives the Bobcats multiple looks and the flexibility to mix matchups throughout the spring, with several arms capable of stepping into starting or relief roles as needed.
Additional depth comes from Hunter Wilson (2026), who provides catching and first base coverage while continuing to develop offensively.
With a lineup dominated by returning underclassmen, Giles County enters 2026 with continuity and upside across the roster. If the Bobcats can turn last season’s experience into consistent production at the plate and solidify roles on the mound, they have the framework in place to make strides in District 12AAA as this young core continues to mature.
