Overall Summary

Tumwater figures to be one of the better 2A sides in the state, anchored by several strong returners heading into 2026. The Thunderbirds are headlined by RHP/OF and University of Michigan commit Luke Overbay. The 4th ranked junior in Washington had a breakout 2025 with superb performances at PNW Preseason All-State and Future Games. The physical 6'4 righty boasts tremendous raw power at the plate with a plus arm in a corner OF spot or on the mound. Overbay pairs his skillset with a steady, no-nonsense approach to the game that should dominate at the high school level. A pair of seniors should join Overbay in carrying a bulk of the innings. RHP Braeden Konrad was used heavily down the stretch last spring and will be a reliable arm, while Yakima Valley commit RHP Jimmy Womach will also contribute innings when he's not catching defensively. The lineup will be an area to watch, as several middle of the order bats from last season have since graduated. Senior Charlie Crawford returns and could see a larger role, while senior Peyton Davis should once again provide speed and contact skills atop the lineup. Several underclassman could be poised to make an impact as well, including '28 RHP Hunter Kirkeby and '28 INF Kade Acker. Head coach Lyle Overbay is circling early season matchups with Olympia and Seattle Academy as games to watch heading into the spring. Expect Tumwater to once again be a quality 2A side heading into 2026.
