Overall Summary
Summit enters 2026 as one of the bigger wild card teams in the state. One one hand, few teams will lose more talent from the previous season than the Storm, headlined by the graduation of first round draft pick Slater de Brun and D1 arm Alex Via. On the other hand, the 5A state champs do return a few pieces and have some talented newcomers that could easily propel them to the pinnacle of 5A ball once again this spring. Senior Jackson Parker returns to the middle of the order as a difference making bat, and could see more extended run on the mound in his final year. Junior Charlie Wiscovich is the other returner to the varsity lineup, manning the shortstop position well last spring. Junior Griz Sutherland could see more extended run as well after putting together a quality look at last summer's Prep Baseball PNW State Games. Junior Andrew Guthrie also has varsity pitching experience and will likely be leaned upon heavily on the bump. After this, newcomers will need to contribute for Summit to have significant success. A pair of talented sophomores ranked in the top 10 for their class look poised to help in this regard. LHP Ryker Hartlaub is a strike thrower who induces weak contact and can handle bulk innings. INF Evan Guadalupe is a talented infield prospect with some developing gap to gap power and top of the order traits. Both players were seen at last fall's West Coast Super Sophomore Games and can make an impact in 2026. Head coach Aaron Boehm has scheduled intriguing games against Grants Pass, Ridgeview and Bend to highlight the spring schedule. Look for Summit to lean upon new contributors to once again be a competitive side in 2026.
