The Prep Baseball Louisiana High School Player of the Week highlights the best performance from a Bayou State player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wedensday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

The former Future Gamer and LSU commit has established himself as the early front-runner for our Player of the Year award after his Week 1 performance. On opening day against Rummel, Romero tossed a complete game one-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts and also went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to lead the Tigers to the 1-0 win over the Raiders. He kept on hitting the rest of the week too, finishing 7-for-13 (.538) with 2 home runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 8 runs batted in, 6 runs scored, 6 walks, and 2 stolen bases.
