New Faces Story
Risers Story

Jason Marll Jr 3B / OF / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2028

It was a statement spring for MD's No. 1 player, as the nationally-recognized Marll entered the 2026 spring with plenty of lofty expectations for Archbishop Spalding. There's no question that the expectations were met, as Marll led Spalding back to the mountain top of the MIAA "A" Conference, leading the Cavaliers to another conference title hitting .750 and hoisting the MIAA Championship MVP. Throughout the spring, Marll solidified the middle of the Cavs lineup, showcasing power and consistency with 40+ hits and a .410 overall batting average. The power upside is lethal, and the most intriguing quality is the overall approach, showcasing an innate ability to backspin line drives to all parts of the field with the power quickly on the rise. A standout showing at the 2026 MD Summer Kickoff, the physical 6-foot-1, 195-pounder showcased the tools in every facet, averaging an exit velo of 95.5 mph while maxing out at 103.8 mph, running a 6.72 60-yard with a 3.81 30-yard, and showing off the arm talent with a 92 mph outfield velo. Tools jump off the page, and look for this to be one of the more sought-after players throughout the Mid-Atlantic this summer.

Cooper DeWaal SS / RHP / Oakdale High, MD / 2028

I'd argue that Maryland's top two players are one of the strongest one-two punches on the east coast, as Cooper DeWaal continues to make his name known not only in the region, but the country as a whole. The left-handed hitting shortstop was one of the top offensive producers this spring, notching 41 hits, 11 doubles, 10 homeruns and 40 runs scored en route to a .500 batting average. The bat-to-ball skills is what separates DeWaal from others in the class, and now that the power is truly coming to fruition only adds to the stock in the 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop this summer. As this frame continues to mature, look for DeWaal to continue trending up over the coming months.

Nick Green OF / SS / Georgetown Preparatory School, MD / 2028

A somewhat unknown coming into the spring, Nick Green is no longer flying under the radar throughout this region following a standout spring with Georgetown Prep and a huge breakout performance at the 2026 MD Summer Kickoff. It's a smooth, yet explosive operation from the left side, showcasing sneaky power to the pull side with the ability to slash line drives to all fields. More in the tank, look for this to be one of the more intriguing skill sets to grab attention this summer. A 6.64 runner with versatility defensively, the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder should garner attention consistently at every stop throughout the coming months.

Austin Callaway RHP / 2B / Delmar High School, DE / 2028

A player that we did not get a chance to see this spring, Callaway was arguably the biggest winner coming out of our Eastern Shore Open in late May. Up 10 spots in this rankings update, Callaway flashed some of the more explosive stuff over the weekend, running the fastball into the upper 80s, grabbing a 90 early in the outing with hard arm-side run that gets on hitters' hands quickly. It's an athletic makeup with plenty more in the tank, allowing the intrigue to jump even higher. The breaking ball shows flashes, and should clean up as more innings are logged throughout the summer months. This is an under-the-radar arm in Delaware that won't be for much longer.
