Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. More importantly, Carter Reiners (2027) tossed a five-inning no hitter and struck out eight batters while only giving up a walk.

McQuillan went 4-for-4 with a pair of singles and a pair of three-run home runs. Clark finished with a single, a bases-loaded walk, and a bases-clearing double to knock in four RBIs of the game. Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois Commit) was another key player that went 2-for-3 with a walk, hit by pitch, two singles, a stolen base, two runs scored, and an RBI. Owen Morgan (2027) pitched the final 3.2 innings and struck out four to earn the win.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when Landon Thome (Tennessee, 2026) doubled in a run and then Kam Alikhan (2026; John A. Logan) would bring in three on another double to make it 4-0. Benet would answer back in the top of the seventh, taking advantage of some walks where Peter Pignatiello (2028) would drive in two to make it 4-3, and then Quinn Rooney (2027; Notre Dame) would tie it up at four on a single. The Roadrunners would win in the eighth, scoring on an error to secure the win.
