Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 2 Lincoln-Way East defeated Stagg by the score of 12-2. The Griffins offense was led by Nate Kaminski (2027), who hit a pinch-hit grand slam to drive in four RBIs of the game. Jacob Newman (2026; Lewis Commit) went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a two-RBI single. Rocco Triolo (2027) went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, a solo home run, and two runs scored. Evan Riiff (2027; Valparaiso Commit) went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored, and two RBIs. Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) took the mound and tossed three scoreless frames and struck out five.

No. 3 Normal Community shut out Urbana by the score of 10-0. Tyce Beckman (2026; North Central Missouri JC Commit) led the Ironmen offense with two RBIs on his two-run single. Carter Harris (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit) got the scoring started with his RBI double in the fourth inning. Jacob Engel (2026) and Oliver Vercruysse (2027) both collected RBI singles as part of a nine-run fifth inning for the Ironmen. More importantly, Carter Reiners (2027) tossed a five-inning no hitter and struck out eight batters while only giving up a walk.

No. 4 Lockport routed Bradley-Bourbonnais to a lobsided victory of 13-0. The Porters offense was led by Zack Skrzypiec (2026), who went 1-for-3 with a bases-clearing triple, a run scored, and four RBIs. Brendan Mecher (2026) went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, RBI fielder's choice, and a run scored. Kaden O'Leary (2027) knocked in two RBIs on his solo home run and RBI groundout. Jake Manzo (2027) came off the bench and hit a two-RBI single. Another key player was David Kundrat (2026; St. Xavier Commit), who went 2-for-3 with a single, RBI double, two stolen bases, and two runs scored. Trace Schaaf (2026; Morton JC Commit) threw a five-inning complete game shutout and struck out eight while giving up two hits.

Brayden McKendrick threw four innings and struck out two to secure the win.

Miles Mazanowski (2027) took a hit by pitch and knocked in two RBIs on his RBI double and RBI groundout. Isaiah Martin (2027) also knocked in an RBI double and also stole a base in this contest. Dodger Friedrich (2028) pitched four strong hitless innings and struck out ten batters to earn the win.

John Artinghelli (2028) and Kyle Ziebell (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) also knocked in RBI singles. Liam Nash (2027; Houston Commit) tossed five strong innings and struck out five to earn the win.

The Warriors offense was led by Kaden Wasniewski (2027; LSU Commit), who went 2-for-4 with a single, grand slam, stolen base, and five RBIs. Carver Cohn (2028) went 2-for-2 with an RBI single, a bases-clearing triple, a walk, hit by pitch, and two runs scored. Jeffry Schwab (2026) went 3-for-3 with two singles, a two-run homer, and two runs scored. Landon Clements (2027; UIC Commit) knocked in two RBIs on his two-run double. Scotty Cole (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) tossed 4.2 innings and struck out six to earn the win.

No. 9 McHenry defeated Hampshire by the score of 14-7 in game 1 of a doubleheader. Nathan Neidhardt (2026) led the Warriors offense by going 3-for-4 with three singles, a sacrifice fly, stolen base, a run scored, and three RBIs. Garet Lobbins (2027) went 2-for-5 with an RBI single, solo home run, and two runs scored. Cam Polerecky went 2-for-4 with two singles, a hit by pitch, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Bennet Baumann (2026) was another key player that went 4-for-5 with a double, three singles, a run scored, and an RBI. He also tossed a quality start by going five innings and striking out four to earn the win. Scotty Cole (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) had a phenomenal relief appearance by pitching 1.2 innings and striking out five of the six batters he faced.

No. 10 Mount Carmel beat Sandburg 15-14 in a back-and-forth thriller. Ten of the Caravan's 13 RBIs came from TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit) and Christian Clark (2026; Triton JC Commit). McQuillan went 4-for-4 with a pair of singles and a pair of three-run home runs. Clark finished with a single, a bases-loaded walk, and a bases-clearing double to knock in four RBIs of the game. Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois Commit) was another key player that went 2-for-3 with a walk, hit by pitch, two singles, a stolen base, two runs scored, and an RBI. Owen Morgan (2027) pitched the final 3.2 innings and struck out four to earn the win.

No. 11 St. Joseph-Ogden defeated Milford by the score of 8-3. Logan Rosenthal (2026; Heartland CC Commit) and Trevor Ames (2026; Morton JC Commit) both led the Spartans with three RBIs coming off home run. Rosenthal hit the three-run home run while Ames hit a solo blast and two-run homer. Ames also delivered 4.2 innings and struck out three to earn the win.

No. 12 Mascoutah shut out Civic Memorial by the score of 3-0. All three RBIs came from Quinn Ford (2026), who hit a two-run single and an RBI fielder's choice. Darren Klein (2027) pitched a complete game shutout and struck out eight batters. He also stole four bases on the basepaths in this contest.

No. 13 Triad defeated Columbia by the score of 5-1. Carter Gaskill (2026; UI-Springfield Commit) hit an RBI single, drew a walk, and stole a base to lead the Knights on offense. Kannon Seipp (2027; Jefferson JC Commit) also hit an RBI single to put himself on the board in this contest. Nathan Klucker (2027) and Kody Anderson (2029) each got the job done on the mound by each striking out two and limiting the damage.

No. 14 Lincoln-Way West defeated Andrew by the score of 12-2 in five innings, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to earn the run rule. Jackson Mansker (2026; Indianapolis FB) went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and one run scored, and Peyton Globke (2026) went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Matt Oberts (2 R), Owen Weber (2 RBI, BB), and Quinten Lange (2 RBI, 2 R) each doubled as well. On the mound, Adam Redmond earned the win tossing four innings with seven strikeouts, while walking two, allowing two runs and five hits.

Parker Roop (2027; Belmont Commit) led the Pioneers offense by going 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-RBI single. Caleb Hornbrook (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) knocked in an RBI single in this contest. Issac Schroeder pitched 5.1 shutout innings in relief and struck out seven batters to earn the win.

No. 21 Dunlap defeated Washington by the score of 6-2. Eli Michanicou (2027; Bradley) earned the win on the mound, tossing five innings and tallying eight strikeouts, walking none, allowing no earned runs while giving up eight hits. He also tallied two hits at the plate, one being a double, with one RBI. Simon Malcom (2026) went 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring twice and walking once, while Landon Gray (2026; Luther College) tripled and drove in a run. Gray also threw two innings in relief, struck out four, walked one, allowed no earned runs and one hit. For Washington, Eli Roedell (2026; Illinois Central JC) went a pefect 4-for-4 with a double.

Andrew McCutchen (2029) added a hit with one RBI, one run scored and two walks, and Zane Maxwell (2026) added a double with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Calyx Wise (2026) tossed three innings in relief, struck out nine, walked one, allowed no earned runs and one hit. In their second game of the day, Edwardsville defeated East St. Louis 19-1. Tyson Wampler (2028) went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Nolan Vojak (2027) went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and one runs scored, Parker Gill (2026) added a hit with two RBI, and one run scored, and Aidan May added a hit with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Carter Grote tossed two innings, struck out four, allowed no walks, or runs, while only giving up one hit.

Brayden Robertson (2026; Illinois-Springfield) added two hits, one being a double, with one RBI. On the mound, Dylan Jantz (2026; Kaskaskia JC) tossed 5.2 innings of shutout baseball, tallying six strikeouts, four walks and one hit allowed.

No. 25 Nazareth Academy took down Benet Academy 5-4 in extra innings. Jimmy O'Connor (2028) got the start and was nothing short of dominant in his four innings of work, with only one Benet bat reaching base via error. He threw four no hit innings and struck out six. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when Landon Thome (Tennessee, 2026) doubled in a run and then Kam Alikhan (2026; John A. Logan) would bring in three on another double to make it 4-0. Benet would answer back in the top of the seventh, taking advantage of some walks where Peter Pignatiello (2028) would drive in two to make it 4-3, and then Quinn Rooney (2027; Notre Dame) would tie it up at four on a single. The Roadrunners would win in the eighth, scoring on an error to secure the win.

Heyworth took down Fisher by a score of 11-3. Ridge Braden (2028) had a strong day at the plate, finishing the day 3-for-4 with a double and driving in five runs. Boston Katz (2026) was strong in his start, throwing three shutout innings with a hit allowed and punching out four.

At the plate, Grant Kiger (2027) went 2-for-2 with a home run, double, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk, and Koyie Williams (2026; Parkland JC) homered, drove in one run, and scored once.

Alleman battled back from a 7-0 deficit in the first, taking down Quincy by a score of 11-10. Kelly Honert had a strong day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Gavin Wilburn hit the go-ahead home run in the top of the seventh inning to secure with win for Alleman. Honert also had a strong day on the mound, pitching a perfect two innings in relief to secure the win.

Quincy defeated Alleman by the score of 4-3. James Day (2026; John Wood) put together a complete game performance on the mound, allowing six hits, three earned runs, and punching out seven in his seven innings of work. Day also played a factor at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, as well as Mason Ritter finishing the day 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Normal West defeated Danville by the score of 6-0. Mayson Aslinger (2028) earned the win, tossing six innings on the mound with 10 strikeouts, one walk, no runs and one hit allowed. Ty Bachman (2028) went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, two RBI and one run scored. He also closed the game out on the mound, firing one inning with two strikeouts and one walk allowed.

East Peoria defeated Morton by the score of 5-1. Jackson Ahrens (2026; Northern Illinois) went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and a walk, and Eli Martin (2029) went a perfect 2-for-2 with two walks. Roman Moody (2026) added a double in the game with one RBI, one run scored and a walk. Dalton Oakman (2026; Monmouth) fired a complete game with five strikeouts, three walks, one run and six hits allowed. For Morton, Cam Crawford (2026; Jefferson JC) went 2-for-2 with a double, one RBI and a walk.

St. Rita took down Leo 12-1. Ian McGrath earned the win going five innings with one earned run, two hits, three walks and five strikeouts. Jayden Ibarra was a perfect 2-for-2 with two homers, finishing with four RBIs and a walk. Ryan Jones was 1-for-2 with a triple, four RBIs and a sac fly.

Bartlett took down Elgin 11-1. Sam Robles homered and had four RBIs. Brandon Pelz (Valparaiso) was a perfect 2-for-2 with two walks. Mason Leiterman (2029) threw it well over his three innings of work, scattering five hits with one earned run, on walk and two strikeouts - also going 1-for-3 at the plate.
