Prep Baseball Announces Partnership with Angels at Bat to Support Baseball Growth Across Africa

By Prep Baseball Staff

Prep Baseball is proud to announce a new partnership with Angels at Bat, a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing the game of baseball throughout Africa by providing equipment and resources to underserved communities.

This partnership will officially kick off in May in recognition of Africa Month, with a joint initiative focused on raising awareness and supporting fundraising efforts for Angels at Bat’s impactful mission.

Angels at Bat works to expand access to baseball across the African continent by collecting new and used equipment and distributing it to teams in need. Through these efforts, the organization not only introduces the game to new players, but also helps foster important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

“Baseball has the power to connect communities and create opportunity,” said Mike Cellucci, VP of Media at Prep Baseball. “We’re excited to partner with Angels at Bat to help grow the game globally while supporting an incredible mission that’s making a real difference.”

As part of the partnership, Prep Baseball will help amplify Angels at Bat’s initiatives through digital promotion, community engagement, and fundraising campaigns throughout Africa Month and beyond.

“Angels at Bat is excited to be partnering with Prep Baseball to help grow baseball on the African continent," said Max Bobholz, Angels at Bat founder and co-president. "Over the past 14 years, we've distributed more than 26,000 pounds of equipment, supported the creation of five fields, trained more than 100 coaches, and distributed grant funding to support baseball activities. We are looking forward to working with Prep Baseball to advance these efforts and grow the game even further."

Individuals and organizations interested in supporting Angels at Bat can contribute in several ways. Donations of new or lightly used baseball equipment, ranging from gloves and bats to training gear, are welcomed, provided they are in good, usable condition. Financial contributions can also be made through platforms such as Venmo (@angelsatbat), PayPal, or directly via their website.

By working together, Prep Baseball and Angels at Bat aim to increase access to baseball, inspire the next generation of players, and continue expanding the sport’s global reach.
