Lightridge 2, Potomac Falls 0

A perfect Thursday night saw game two of this week’s Potomac District series between Potomac Falls and Lightridge as the Bolts tried to complete the sweep of the week after Tuesday’s 6-3 win. Both teams sent senior aces to the mound and the game predictably turned into a tight pitchers’ duel as future teammates Caden Bell (Lynchburg) and Andrew Webb (Lynchburg) traded zeroes for the first 4 innings. Lightridge finally broke through in the fifth as Webb helped his own cause with an RBI single past first base after an error put the go-ahead run in scoring position. The Bolts would add another run in the sixth, but ultimately Webb was too much for the Panthers, tossing a 4-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts. Bell also had 9 strikeouts and allowed just 2 hits in 4.1 innings.

Hampton 14, Kecoughtan 7

A pair of big innings in the fourth and fifth allowed Hampton to take control and never look back, powering them to a convincing win. Freshman Mat Chaltraw delivered a strong outing on the mound, giving Hampton 4.1 quality innings and keeping them in position early. At the plate, senior Norfolk State commit Jaycob Flores set the tone and helped get the offense going. He put together a strong day, and the lineup followed his lead as Hampton built its advantage.

Randolph-Henry 12, Amelia County 3

Randolph-Henry pulled away in the sixth inning tacking on nine runs to take a 12-3 win over Amelia County. Brennan Evans fueled the offense by bringing in four runs on two triples. Parker Allen threw a complete game, only allowing two earned runs with 5K’s and no walks.

Eastern View 2, King George 1

Pitchers were dialed in for one with a low scoring affair going into extra innings. Kaden Hunnicutt and Isaac Babich gave good outings on the mound for Eastern View to keep hits at a minimum. Matthew Kane did a phenomenal job for King George on the mound throughout the outing, working into the eighth inning. Tyler Caperton would work a walk and be the winning run off of a Makinlee Apperson single to win the game.

#7 Abingdon 14, John Battle 4

This one was all Abingdon. After Battle jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Falcons would answer with eight in the bottom half. A Dax Bailey 2-RBI double and a Aiden Smith three run homerun would drive in five of the eight total runs that inning. While it was not necessarily a dominant performance from Landon Turman (ECU), it was certainly the quality start that they needed to keep the Battle offense at bay. Turman would throw a shortened complete game, allowing three hits, two earned, two walks, and striking out three. Aiden Smith added to his first inning three run homerun with a 2-RBI single in the third and bring his line for the day to 2-2 with five RBI, three runs, a HBP, and a walk. Will Allen also had a multi-hit day, going 2-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Loudoun Valley 8, Loudoun County 5

A breezy Friday night saw a back-and-forth affair in Leesburg. County jumped out to a lead in the second before Valley scored three in the third. Valley would eventually stretch the lead to 5-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth, as Viking senior Landon Bauer (James Madison) made some big pitches to get out of trouble and minimize damage throughout the game. County was able to score two in the sixth to cut into the deficit. In the seventh, Owen Picarillo (Chatham) delivered a clutch 2-out RBI single to tie the game and send it to extras. Valley would get the upper hand in the ninth, when Ryan Barrett delivered a go-ahead 2-RBI single. Picarillo, Chris Chinn, and Nathan Yowell had multi-hit nights for the Captains and Eli Acosta (Chatham) picked up the win in relief for Valley with 4 innings of 1-hit work and 6 strikeouts.

Salem (Salem) 6, Christiansburg 5

This one stayed tight all night with neither team able to break it open early. Christiansburg struck first in the second inning, while Salem answered in the fourth to even things up. The late innings brought all the drama. Christiansburg briefly retook the lead in the sixth on an RBI single from Senior Jayden Harman, but Salem capitalized on an error at the plate and a sacrifice fly to go up 3–2. The seventh was a back-and-forth finish, with Christiansburg tacking on three runs then Salem sealing the win on a walk-off hit from sophomore Benjamin Farber. Noteworthy performances from Christiansburg’s Junior Ethan Wayman (Radford) was strong on the mound, going 5 innings with just one run allowed and nine strikeouts, and Senior Mason Cullop with two doubles.

Justice 6, Mount Vernon 4

A Friday night National District matchup saw the Justice Wolves take down the Mount Vernon Majors 6-4. Justice jumped out to an early lead, scoring four in the first. Mount Vernon would attempt to comeback in the middle innings, but the Wolves added on in the fourth and fifth to keep their lead. For Justice, ‘27 Brody Schrecker went a complete game on the mound and ‘26 Ronald Castillo (Richard Bland) drove in two. For the Majors, ‘29 Jacob Torres pitched a complete game and had two hits at the plate and ‘27 Justin Kelly tallied two hits.

Wilson Memorial 6, Stuarts Draft 1

It was a phenomenal outing for the freshman Frankie Kovac as he set the tone on the mound. He threw a complete game only allowing one hit and struckout ten. Christian Brewer and Nolan Deaver led the Wilson Memorial offense with two hits a piece. Stuarts Draft managed to put up their lone run in the second off of a Jackson Mader double. The Hornets gained control of this game early and didn't look back.

#22 Glen Allen 11, St. Christopher's 1

The Jaguars scored in four of the five innings played, including two innings that would total nine of their eleven runs. DJ Henry was 3-3 with three runs scored and Colin Whidbee (Hampden-Sydney) was 2-2 with two runs scored, as well as a big diving catch in the late innings. Cooper McPherson had one of the biggest swings of the day, driving a two run homerun out of left field that would put this one far out of reach. Jaguars’ ace Daniel Nienaber (Mississippi State) was 2-4 with three RBI while also tossing a shortened complete game. Nienaber allowed four hits, one walk, one earned run, and struck out six St. Chris hitters.

#10 Mills Godwin 6, Benedictine 2

This one was tight early, until Mills Godwin tallied three runs in the third. While that is not all they scored, that would be all they needed, as the Godwin pitching staff would limit the Cadets to six total hits, three of which came from freshman Cooper Crabtree. Jacob Babcock (JMU) added two hits on top of his 3.2 innings of shutout ball on the mound. Eli Macturk and Christian Mulroe would finish the job for the Eagles. The Eagles’ offense was paced by Babcock, Matthew Hartsfield (VMI), and Will Canfield
