Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence defeated DePaul College Prep by the score of 13-2. The Vikings offense was led by Danny Donovan (2026; UW-Parkside Commit), who went 2-for-4 with a single, three-run home run, a stolen base, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) went 2-for-4 with a triple, single, hit by pitch, a run scored, and two RBIs. Mickey Lotus (2026; Lewis Commit) and Ryan Lotus (2027) hit RBI singles to finish the seven-run first inning for the Vikings. Daniel Coyle (2026; Lewis Commit) hit a solo home run to knock in his RBI of the game. Evan Panther continues to be a factor on the base paths with two more stolen bases. Kentucky commit Tristan Steger (2027) added two knocks and a double. Jimmy Benson (2027; TCU Commit) threw six strong innings and struck out nine to pick up the win.

No. 3 Lincoln-Way East defeated Joliet Catholic 4-2. The Griffins' offense got it done early when they scored all four runs within the first two innings. Ryne Pearson (2026) led the way in RBIs on his two-run single. Evan Riiff (2027; Valparaiso Commit) hit a sacrifice fly. Rocco Triolo (2027) hit a solo home run to knock in his RBI of the game. Ryan Harris (2028) finished off the contest by delivering the final 3.1 innings of hitless baseball and four strikeouts.

No. 4 Huntley defeated Crystal Lake South 10-4. The Red Raiders' offense was led by Kyle Ziebell (2026; Lake Land JC Commit), who went 3-for-4 with a lead-off home run, two RBI doubles, a walk, stolen base, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Ashton Jones (2027) collected an RBI on his bunt fielder's choice while Diego Herrera (2026; Parkland Commit) hit an RBI single to put himself on the board. Nate Larson (2027) tossed 5.1 innings and struck our five batters to earn the win.

No. 6 Libertyville came from behind to win against Mundelein 4-3. Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State Commit) played hero in this one as he was able to hit the game-winning two-RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to split the home-and-home two-game set versus Mundelein. Brady Buenik (2027; Tennessee Commit) delivered four innings and punched out six batters. Madden Cotts (2027; Bradley Commit) finished up the final three innings without allowing a run and struck out three and earned the win.

No. 7 Brother Rice shut out Fenwick by the score of 10-0. Colin Campbell (2027; Louisville Commit) and Brady Cunningham (2027; Texas A&M Commit) both led the way for the Crusaders with two RBIs each. Campbell walked in a run and hit a sacrifice fly. Cunningham drew a bases-loaded hit by pitch and hit an RBI single. Nolan Ramoley (2026; Northwestern Commit) hit an RBI single and Brent Nevils (2026; Xavier (LA) Commit) hit a sacrifice fly to get themselves on the board for this contest. JJ Manos (2026; Butler Commit) tossed four scoreless innings and struck out three batters to earn the win.

No. 9 Mount Carmel defeated Providence Catholic by the score of 13-11. Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC Commit) led the Caravan offense by going 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, three runs scored, and four RBIs. Mario Medina (2026; Davenport Commit) knocked in a two-RBI single as part of an eight-run third inning. Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit) hit an RBI single to get on the board in this contest. Owen Morgan (2027) recored a nine-out save to close out the game.

No. 11 St. Joseph-Ogden routed Oakwood by the score of 22-4. Asher Pruemer (2026; Kaskaskia JC Commit) led the way for the Spartans with a perfect 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, two-run double, RBI single, hit by pitch, three runs scores, and five RBIs. Tyler Wright (2027) went 2-for-2 with two doubles, a walk, hit by pitch, run scored, and three RBIs. Bryson Houchens (2026; Morton JC Commit) hit a solo home run and a bases-loaded walk to knock in two RBIs along with a stolen base. Finn Miller (2027) hit a two-run home run to knock in his two RBIs of the game along with a stolen base. Other key players include Trevor Ames (2026; Morton JC Commit) (1-for-2, 2 HBP, 2 SB, 2 R, 2 RBI), Will Haley (2026; Kankakee CC Commit) (2-for-3, 2B, HBP, 2 SB, 3 R, 2 RBI), and Dalton York (2027) (1-for-2, R, 2 RBI). Jameson Ehler (2028) pitched two innings and struck out five batters.

No. 13 Marquette defeated RBLW (CO-OP) by the score of 7-6 in eight innings. Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC Commit) got the win in relief by pitching four shutout innings and striking out six batters. The Crusaders' offense was led by Anthony Couch (2026; Spoon River JC Commit), who went 3-for-5 with a triple, two singles, a run scored, and three RBIs. This includes the walk-off RBI single he hit in extra innings. Jaxsen Higgins (2026) went 1-for-3 with a two-run triple, a walk, stolen base, and two RBIs. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso) went 2-for-2 with a double, single, three walks, two runs scored, and an RBI. Caden Durdan (2027) hit an RBI single to put himself on the board for this contest.

No. 15 Lyons defeated Glenbard West by the score of 3-2. All three Lions runs were scored in the first inning. This includes a two-RBI single by Tommy Georgelos (2026; Eastern Illinois Commit), who also drew two walks in this contest. Lon Roberts (2026; Webster Commit) led the Lions with two stolen bases. Jack Slightom (2026; Cincinnati Commit) pitched six stellar innings of shutout baseball and struck out 13 batters.

Belleville West defeated No. 16 Edwardsville by the score of 12-2. The Maroons' offense was led by Adam Bilzing, who went 3-for-3 with a double, two singles, two runs, and three RBIs. Jack Harris (2027) went 2-for-3 with a double, single, hit by pitch, a run scored, and two RBIs. Max Feazel drove in a two-RBI single along with a walk and a run scored. Chase Boente pitched a five-inning complete game and struck out four batters. For Edwardsville, Tyson Wampler (2028) went 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI.

No. 17 O’Fallen took down Belleville East 8-2 behind a grand slam from Asher Cantu (2026) in the fifth inning. Brayden Robertson (2026; Illinois-Springfield commit) went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored and Liam Decker went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to power the Panthers offense. Dylan Jantz (2026; Kaskaskia commit) got the start and the win on the mound going five innings allowing one earned run, while striking out six. Reid Neumayer (2026) collected two hits and a walk to lead Belleville East.

No. 19 Lemont scored 12 unanswered runs to defeat Bremen 12-6. Five players collected two or more hits for Lemont, highlighted by performances by Ethan Kelby (2026; 3-for-5, 3 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R), Matteo Rendina (2027; 4-for-4, RBI, 3 R), Brett Tucker (2026; Southern Illinois-Edwardsville commit; 2-for-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) and Charlie Duerr (2027; 2-for-2, 2 2B, RBI, R, BB). Michael Preuss (2027) earned the win in relief going 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits, while striking out three. Aiden Gonzales (2027) collected two doubles and drove in two for the Braves.

No. 20 Geneva defeated Wheaton-Warrenville South 8-5 to improve to 15-2. Ryan Kastor (2026) led the charge going 3-for-4 with two 2B, four RBI, a run scored and a walk. Josh Frieders (2026) also collected three hits on the day. Mason Bruesch (2027; Michigan State commit; 2-for-3, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 SB) and Alex Abraham (2027; 2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) had solid days at the plate as well. Noah Hallahan (2027) got the start and the win on the mound for the Vikings, going five innings allowing just two runs.

No. 21 Normal University shutout Lincoln 7-0 to improve to 16-2 on the season. Cade Cunningham (2026; 4IP, 4H, 0R, 4K) and Isaac Schroeder (2028; 3IP, H, 0R, 5K) combined for the shutout. Caleb Hornbrook (2026; Lake Land JC commit) led the Pioneers' offense going 2-for-3 with a HR, 2B and three RBI. Parker Roop (2027; Belmont commit) added a triple and Cole Brent (2027; Illinois commit) collected a hit and two RBI.

Glenbrook North took down No. 22 New Trier for the second day in a row, winning 4-0. Harper Williams (2026; 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 5 K) and Noah Terrien (2026; IP, H, 0 R, 2 K) combined for the shutout. Jackson Sturner (2026; San Diego City College commit; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 R, SB) and Dylan Hirsch (2026; 2-for-3, 2B, R, SB) each collected two hits for the Spartans. Theo Gerothanas (2026) delivered a two-RBI double in the third inning, and that proved to be all the scoring the Spartans needed.

Loyola Academy defeated No. 24 St. Rita 13-12 on a walk-off, bases-clearing double from Peter LaFontaine (2026; Milwaukee Area JC commit). LaFontaine finished the day 3-for-5 with two doubles and five driven in. Bennett Kono (2028; 2-for-2, 2B, 3 R, 2 BB) also had a great day in a balanced Ramblers attack that saw all nine starters collect a hit. Nine players for the Mustangs also collected a hit, highlighted by a homerun from Vinny Stubitsch (2027). Nick Cegielski (2026) looked sharp in relief for the Mustangs going three innings, only allowing one baserunner.

Willowbrook, which trailed 8-4 after three innings, rallied back to score a 10-9 victory at Downers Grove South, improving the Warriors to 13-4. Alek Ramey (2026; Rock Valley) drove in three runs and threw two innings of one-hit relief to earn the victory. He made way for Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona), who earned his third save of the season, striking out two in the final two innings. Crocker had an RBI double and drove in the tying run with a fielder's choice in the fifth inning bringing him to 27 RBIs on the season. Jake Bonino (2026; South Suburban) raced around from second base on the play, scoring on a throwing error.

Glenwood defeated Rochester by the score of 16-6 in six innings. Colton Knoedler (2026; Lincoln Land CC) powered the offense in the game, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, eight RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Reid Peterson (2027) added two hits of his own, one home run, four RBI and two runs scored, and Michael Lucas (2026; Lincoln Land CC) went 3-for-4 in the game with a double, two RBI, three runs scored and a walk.

Harvest-Westminster took down Alden-Hebron 18-0 behind Ryan St. Louis - who fired three shutout, hitless innings with seven strikeouts.

Mt. Zion defeated Charleston by the score of 5-1. Brock Foster (2026) went 3-for-3 in the game with two RBI, and Evan Howley (2027) went 1-for-1 with a home run, RBI, two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Connor Fox (2027) tossed a complete game with 12 strikeouts, no walks, one run and five hits allowed.

Wilmington took down Manteno 5-3. Cooper Holman fired 6.2 innings with four hits, no earned runs, three walks and 11 strikeouts.

Alleman defeated Monmouth United 13-1. Kelly Honert was the player of the game, firing five innings on the mound with five hits, one run and two strikeouts - also going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Adam VanMeighem also went 3-for-3, adding an RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Truman Marner (1-for-2, 2 RBI, 3 R, 3 SB) and Brady Williams (2-for-3, R, 2 SB) both chipped in offensively as well.

Rowan Mizeur (2026) went 3-for-3 in the game with a double, five RBI and one run scored, and Carson Butler (2026; Heartland CC) went a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple, one RBI, four runs scored and a walk. Andrew Hofner (2026) went 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run scored and three walks, and Drew Ward (2026; Illinois Wesleyan) went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run scored.

North Clay/Clay City defeated Farina South Central by the score of 15-0 in four innings. Cody Zimdars (2026) went 2-for-2 with two home runs, six RBI, two runs scored and two walks, and Cayden Craig (2026) went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, three runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Ian Jones (2026) tossed three innings, struck out five, walked one, allowed no runs and one hit.

The host Rams scored in every inning enroute to the five inning victory improving their record to 12-1 on the season. Beckham Stone had three hits and three RBI's to lead the 13 hit attack. Juniors Charlie Surowiec and Jonathan Malloy had a pair of hits as did seniors Jack Velez and Carson Woods and soph lead off man Jayson Domerchie also had two hits. Fellow Soph Beau Barrows improved to 3-0 with four shut out innings scattering two hits.

Gavin Fuscone (5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K) set the tone on the mound, needing only 50 pitches (40 strikes) in the win. Kyle LaRose (2-3, triple, double, 5 RBIs, 2 runs), Nathan Moline (2-4, 3 RBIs, 1 run) and Andrew Evans (2-3, 2 runs) set the tone offensively in the win. The Saints improved to 12-4 overall and 4-1 in the Dukane Conference.

Austin Borries (2026; Lindenwood) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI, and Jason Kreke (2026; Kaskaskia JC) homered in the game and tallied five RBI, one run scored and a walk. Caleb Deters (2027) tossed five innings on the mound and earned the win, talling five strikeouts, no walks, two runs and three hits.

Neuqua Valley took down Metea Valley 8-7. Andy Barkley led the game off with a home run, finishing with two RBIs and two runs scored. Christian Lott (3B, 3 RBI, 2R), Jaleel Glover (2B, R, SB) and Danny Mikuta (RBI) all had two hits apiece. JP Polcyn earned the win with 5.2 innings - while Caden Kojak notched the 1.2 inning save.

Batavia came from behind to win against Lake Park 6-5. Hayden Peterson struck out four batters in his two-inning relief appearance, which earned him the win. Offensively, Michael Vander Luitgaren led the Bulldogs by going 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and the game-tying two-run home run in the fifth inning. Ben Johnson went 3-for-3 with two singles and a solo home run. Brandon Oke hit the walk-off RBI double to win it for the Bulldogs.

Belvidere North defeated Guilford by the score of 6-5. The game went back and forth in this one. The Blue Thunder erased a four-run deficit by putting up a four-spot in the fourth inning. AJ Scholl (2027) and Andrew Bucci (2026) each hit RBI singles, and the Rylan Zuroske (2027) stole home to tie it at four. Cade Kreczmer (2027) hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to give the Blue Thunder the first lead of the game. Then, in the seventh, Wyatt Paulsen (2026; Beloit Commit) knocked in the game-winning RBI by hitting a ground ball and reaching on an error. Tanner Walton (2027) closed out the game with a 1-2-3 inning to secure the save.

Aurora Central Catholic scored seven in the bottom of the seventh, but came up just short, falling 9-8 to Montini Catholic. Julio Ayala (2027) led the Montini offense going 3-for-4 with a 2B, three RBI and two runs scored. Jack Spanos (2027; 3-for-4, 2 R, SB) and Johnny Louise (2027; 2-for-4, R, BB, SB) each reached base three times for the Broncos. Blake Heyer (2026; Holy Cross commit) was sharp on the mound, going five innings, allowing three hits and one run, while striking out seven.

Breese Central defeated Roxana by the score of 1-0. Craig Schroeder hit the game-winning RBI single in the sixth inning. Alex Athmer (2027) nearly went the distance but settled for 6.2 stellar shutout innings and struck out nine batters.
