Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Prep Baseball Washington Pitcher and Hitter of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations submitted through our POTW Google Form.

Additionally, we will continue our Washington Diamond Notes to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Pitcher or Hitter of the Week.

This week's Hitter of the Week is '26 1B/LHP James Gill III (Battle Ground).

James Gill III LHP / 1B / Battle Ground, WA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 28 / POS: 3 The two-time league POTY swung it well last week to win HOTW for week 6 of Washington HS action. The Washington commit went 5-7, slugging 2 home runs and 5 RBI overall. The lefty also added 3 runs scored and 4 walks as a part of his big week. Gill is a dynamic two-way talent and a key piece on a Power 25 squad.
