Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Prep Baseball Oregon Pitcher and Hitter of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations submitted through our POTW Google Form.

Additionally, we will continue our Oregon Diamond Notes to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Pitcher or Hitter of the Week.

This week's Hitter of the Week is '26 INF/RHP Grady Saunders (Thurston).

Grady Saunders RHP / SS / Thurston, OR / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 234 / POS: 83 The top-ranked player in Oregon's senior class thanks to his prowess on the mound, Saunders showcased his versatility last week with a big series of offensive performances. The Oregon State commit went 6-10 with 2 home runs, a double and a triple. He also added 5 runs scored, 3 walks and 12 RBI. Saunders is an immense talent and is a must-follow for the remainder of the spring.
