Texas Pitcher & Hitter of the Week (Week 8)

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Hitter & Pitcher of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
Thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
Let's take a look at the Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for Week 8 (Apr 6-Apr 11).
HITTER OF THE WEEK
Jancarlos Ortiz | 2027 | OF | Atascocita
Uncommitted standout Jancarlos Ortiz delivered a great week at the plate, going 7-for-9 with a grand slam and a triple. He drove in 5 runs, scored 5 times, and posted a 2.061 OPS.
Ortiz is making a name for himself this season, as he continues to do damage at the plate.
