Colorado Power 25

The Prep Baseball Colorado staff is looking forward to diligently scouting players and teams throughout this spring, and will continue to work hard to bring the state top notch coverage on the baseball diamond. Colorado is flourishing with high-end baseball talent at the moment and is starting to gather more and more national recognition as well. We hope to continue all momentum in the state while making an impact on the players and teams within. 

Throughout the 2026 season, our staff will be publishing scout notes/video, and additional in-season content along the way, like Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, 'Daily Roundups', and weekly top performers included inside Diamond Notes.

TOP 25 (WEEK 6):

Five weeks into CHSAA play, and the state’s Power 25 is still shifting almost daily. There’s been plenty of movement throughout the rankings, but at the very top, Regis Jesuit, Arvada West, and Cherry Creek continue to hold firm, showing no signs of giving up their spots anytime soon.

This week also brings four new teams into the mix: Boulder, Lutheran, Fruita Monument, and Fairview, and each has a strong case for inclusion. The Lutheran Lions are one of the hottest teams in the state right now, riding a 7-game win streak to a 9-5 record, highlighted by quality wins over Vista Peak, Discovery Canyon (twice), and Northfield (ranked #21 last week). Boulder has quietly put together an impressive 8-4 campaign and nearly pulled off a statement win against #7 Ralston Valley, pushing them to extra innings back on April 4th.

Out west, Fruita Monument is once again proving why they’re a force on the Western Slope. The Wildcats have won five straight, including big-time wins over Heritage and a ranked Palisade squad twice. They’ve also got one of the state’s hottest arms in senior Josh Weaver, who’s been lights-out this spring. Meanwhile, Fairview earns its spot after stacking three ranked wins over Ralston Valley, Holy Family, and Northfield. The Knights are a gritty group that continues to find ways to win and should only get better as the season progresses.

One team still standing unbeaten in 4A and 5A, the Roosevelt Roughriders at 12-0. They’ve put together a complete roster with a deep, impact-driven pitching staff that gives them serious postseason potential.

A few other teams trending upward right now include Broomfield, Regis Jesuit, and Arvada West. Both Arvada West and Regis Jesuit remain undefeated against in-state competition, while Broomfield has surged by winning six of its last seven, picking up key victories over ranked opponents in Rocky Mountain and Erie.
