NOTABLE RECAPS FROM WEDNESDAY

#12 Skyridge (6) vs. #7 Mountain Ridge (5)

The Skyridge Falcons showed some serious grit yesterday, outlasting Mountain Ridge in a 6–5 nine-inning marathon that required every bit of their 12-hit arsenal. Ripken Roberts and Mason Omae acted as the catalysts for the Falcons' offense, with Roberts driving in two runs and Omae consistently finding the gaps for a pair of doubles. While Mountain Ridge jumped out to an early lead behind a triple from Brody Buck and extra-base hits from Ryker Morton and Cooper Goff, the Skyridge bullpen proved to be the equalizer. Grayson Bauer delivered five clutch innings of scoreless relief to bridge the gap, allowing Nathan Whitehead to take over in the final frames and lock down the win. Despite committing four errors that kept the Sentinels within striking distance, the Falcons' resilience in extra innings allowed them to escape with the narrow victory.

Park City (9) vs. Murray (7)

The Park City Miners outlasted the Murray Spartans in a grueling 11-inning marathon, finally securing a 9–7 victory in a game that tested the depth and endurance of both squads. The Miners’ offense was headlined by a career day from Kai deLong, who went 4-for-5 to keep the pressure on, while Alex Brannigan provided the ultimate highlight with a solo home run. Despite the high-scoring nature of the contest, the story of the late innings was Joey Breza. After starting the game at second base, Breza took the mound in relief and delivered four brilliant, scoreless innings, fanning five Spartans to silence their bats and earn the hard-fought win.

Murray put up a massive fight, led by Brody Sofonia, who put the team on his back with a home run, a double, and three RBIs. Austin Lunt was also a force at the top of the lineup, racking up three hits to keep the Spartans' rallies alive. The game was a chaotic affair of endurance, featuring a combined 25 hits and multiple lead changes, but Park City’s late-inning discipline—drawing eight total walks and getting hit by four pitches—allowed them to eventually break through in the 11th. While Hayden Mount and Sofonia both gritted through long shifts on the mound for Murray, the Miners' ability to escape jams in extra innings proved to be the difference.

Top Performers

Uintah (7) vs. #5 Timpanogos (3)

The Uintah Utes rode a masterful "do-it-all" performance from Brody Murray to claim a decisive 7–3 victory over the Timpanogos Timberwolves. Murray was the undisputed anchor for the Utes, tossing a focused 7.0-inning complete game on the mound while simultaneously fueling the offense with a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Uintah’s lineup was relentless from top to bottom, racking up 12 hits—led by Rykan Hacking, who set the tone by scoring three runs, and Jaxson Erickson, who provided the heavy lifting with a pair of RBIs.

Timpanogos struggled to find a collective rhythm against Murray’s efficient command, though Boston Cook provided a major spark with a triple and two runs scored. Corbin Hardy added an extra-base hit of his own, but the Timberwolves were unable to capitalize on their limited baserunners. While Timpanogos cycled through three different pitchers to slow the bleeding, Uintah’s consistent pressure and error-free defense allowed them to maintain control and secure a statement win on the road, handing Timpanogos only their 2nd loss of the season.

Top Performers

#24 Mountain Crest (6) vs. #18 Bear River (4)

The Mountain Crest Mustangs maximized their opportunities to secure a prominent 6–4 victory over the Bear River Bears, despite being out-hit 10 to 5. The definitive blow came from Jackson Pearce, who drove in four runs on a 2-for-3 afternoon, including a clutch triple that broke the game open. Mason Smith turned in a strong two-way performance, scoring twice and earning the win on the mound with six strikeouts over five innings. Bear River mounted a consistent threat behind Stephen Starnes, who notched three hits, and Jackson Barfuss, who reached base in every plate appearance, but they struggled to find the big hit with runners in scoring position. Ben Welch stepped in for the final two frames, striking out three to silence the Bears' late-inning rally and seal the win for the Mustangs.

Top Performers

Alta (12) vs. Woods Cross (13)

The Woods Cross Wildcats outlasted the Alta Hawks in an absolute offensive shootout, walking away with a 13–12 walk off victory in a game that featured 27 combined hits and five home runs. Alta brought the thunder early and often, led by a massive two-homer performance from Connor Swicegood and a near-cycle from McCoy Johnson, who racked up seven total bases. However, the Wildcats refused to be intimidated, matching the Hawks' power with a three-run blast from James Hallows and elite table-setting by Alex Razee. The difference-maker proved to be Woods Cross’s aggression on the basepaths—highlighted by Tyson Devore’s three stolen bases—and a clutch scoreless seventh inning from Dawson White, who finally silenced the Hawks' bats to secure the wild region 6 win.
