Texas Diamond Notes: Week 7

The Texas Diamond Notes will focus on highlighting some of the top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Tuesday evening of the high school season that had impressive weeks during their team's games.
A special thank you to all of the high school coaches for nominating their players.
WEEK 7 DIAMOND NOTES
+ Landon Carlisle, Pitcher (Weatherford, 2026; Grayson JC):
Carlisle pitched a five-inning perfect game against North Crowley, securing an 11-0 victory. Over his five innings of work, he allowed zero hits, zero runs, and zero walks while striking out nine batters.
+ Wyatt Johle, Pitcher (Granger, 2028):
Johle threw a seven-inning complete game to help his team defeat a district rival for higher playoff seeding. He allowed zero runs, two hits, and one walk while striking out five batters, and he also contributed defensively with three assists and one putout.
+ Roman Martinez , Pitcher/CF (United South, 2026; Ranger JC):
On the mound, Martinez pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout no-hitter, allowing zero runs and just one walk while striking out 14 batters. At the plate, he batted 5-for-10, collecting a double, a triple, and a home run while driving in nine.

+ Jaxon McKnight, RHP (Atascocita, 2026; Texas State):
McKnight earned a win by pitching a complete game shutout against the defending state champions, Power 30 No. 10 Kingwood. He allowed zero runs, four hits, and three walks while striking out six batters.
+ Jack Vasquez, Pitcher (San Marcos, 2027; Texas State):
Vasquez pitched a seven-inning no-hitter in a 29-6A district matchup against second-place Cibolo Steele. He allowed zero earned runs and two walks while racking up an impressive 16 strikeouts.

+ Jett Vindiola, Catcher (Weatherford, 2026; Kansas State):
Defensively, Vindiola caught both a one-hitter and a perfect game during the week against North Crowley. Offensively, he posted a .500 batting average by going 2-for-4 with two doubles, five RBI, three runs scored, and three walks.
+ Jackson Wooten, SS (Atascocita, 2027; Kentucky):
Playing against the defending state champions, Power 30 No. 10 Kingwood, Wooten went 4-for-5 at the plate. He recorded an .800 batting average, an .857 on-base percentage, and a 2.257 OPS. His stat line included one home run, one RBI, four runs scored, one stolen base, and two intentional walks.
