Texas Pitcher & Hitter of the Week (Week 7)

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Hitter & Pitcher of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
Thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

Martinez had an all around monster week. 5-10 at the plate with a double, triple, homerun and 9 RBI. He also got it done on the mound, tossing a no hitter (7IP), with 14 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Big time stuff from the Ranger College commit. |
PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Jack Richard Vasquez LHP / OF / San Marcos, TX / 2027Texas State commit Jack Vasquez delivered a dominant outing, tossing a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts, no earned runs and 2 walks. Vasquez has swing and miss stuff in his arsenal and showcased it last week. The lefty can be very dangerous when getting ahead in counts and putting away hitters with the breaking ball. |
