As we have for the past few years, each week we will be highlighting the staff's pick for the VA/DC High School Player of the Week. Each selection is made from a game that a staff member was at the previous week. While last week, due to spring break in a few places, was a bit lighter in terms of total game count, it was not light in terms of big output from players. Take a look at who brings home the Week 4 Player of the Week.
VA/DC Player of the Week: Aidan Spagna
In a big Power 25 matchup last Friday, the Boston College commit rose to the occasion. Spagna secured his POTW honors after he turned in a 3-4 night, scoring two, driving in five, with a double and homerun along the way. While it was certainly the look at his overall performance, it was also the timing and ability to capitalize in clutch moments that sealed the deal. Trailing by three in the fourth inning, Spagna delivered a three run homerun that would tie the game and kickstart the Tigers's offensive comeback. As Battlefield tightened the game up to 11-10, Spagna responded in the top of the sixth with a two run single to secure the Indy win.
