PREP BASEBALL LOUISIANA POWER 25 RANKINGS (FINAL UPDATE)

The Louisiana high school baseball season kicked off on Monday February 9, 2026 with regular season action beginning under LHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Louisiana Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Since Opening Day, our scouts have been out and about covering the 2026 season and will be publishing scout blogs and additional in-season content, such as our Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, Scout Blogs, Diamond Notes, and more.

The Top 5

It is crazy to think, but we have made it to the end point of the 2026 regular season, which means that it's time for our final Power 25 Rankings update. This week brings a couple of subtle shifts within the Top-5 with the addition of one new team to the group.

Barbe finishes the regular season as our top ranked team after going 4-0 last week to extend their winning streak to 32 games. The Bucs swept Southside to finish District 3-5A play undefeated, before taking down Grace Christian twice in a double-header last Friday. With an overall record of 33-1, they have a chance to finish the season with 40 plus wins. 

Catholic BR moves up a spot to #2 after going 5-0 last week to move their overall record to 29-4. The Bears swept district-foe Zachary last week and allowed only 1 run across their two games against the Broncos. Senior Lucas Lawrence and sophomore Reis Wascom threw a combined five inning no-hitter last Thursday in the Bears ten-run rule win over Zachary.

Brother Martin comes in at #3 after winning all three of their games last week to improve to 28-5 on the year. The Crusaders scored a total of 40 runs last week and allowed 0 against St. Augustine and Edna Karr to finish as Co-District Champions.

Sam Houston ends the regular season with a 28-6 record after winning all four of their games last week. The Broncos swept district-rival Sulphur and ten-run ruled a really good Vandebilt Catholic team last Saturday. Senior Carson Christ hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 8th last Thursday to seal Sam Houston's 4-3 win over Sulphur.

Hahnville put the finishing touches on a stellar regular season by going 3-0 last week to finish with an overall record of 28-6. The Tigers swept district-rival Destrehan before taking down Belle Chasse over the weekend. Junior Koa Romero threw a complete-game one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts last Tuesday to lead Hahnville to the 1-0 win over Destrehan to win the district title.

 

Risers

 + Brusly moves up four spots to #13 in this update after going 5-0 last week to move their overall record to 28-5. The Panthers are riding an impressive 19-game winning streak and scored a total of 46 runs last week.

+ Walker went a perfect 4-0 last week and move up to #15 in this week's update. The Wildcats picked up three district wins against Denham Springs and East Ascension twice, while also taking down Doyle by a score of 11-1.

+ Sterlington jumps up again in this update to #18 after winning all three of their games last week to finish the regular season with an overall record of 23-5. Senior Miller Sheets went 5-for-10 (.500) last week with 2 home runs, a double, 3 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored.
