ALABAMA - With the 2026 high school season officially underway, it’s time to recognize the standout performances that helped set the tone across Alabama in Week 7 of the season.
Each week this spring, we will name an Alabama Player of the Week and Alabama Pitcher of the Week, honoring the top individual performances from around the state. These awards are based entirely on nominations submitted by high school coaches, highlighting the athletes who delivered when it mattered most during game action.
From dominant outings on the mound to explosive performances at the plate, Week 7 brought no shortage of impact performances. Now, it’s time to spotlight the next honorees of the 2026 season.
AL Player of the Week: Week 7

Jordon Lankford 3B / Geraldine School, AL / 20283B Jordon Lankford delivered a highly productive offensive performance to earn Alabama Player of the Week honors. The No. 8-ranked player in Alabama’s 2028 class went 7-for-11 (.636) at the plate, recording four extra-base hits, including a home run and two triples, while driving in eight runs and scoring six times. Lankford also posted a .667 on-base percentage, adding a walk and two stolen bases to impact the game in multiple ways. |
AL Pitcher of the Week: Week 7

Ridge Brown LHP / Lamar County, AL / 2027LHP Ridge Brown continued his dominant stretch on the mound to earn Alabama Pitcher of the Week honors. The 2027 left-hander delivered a six-inning perfect game, retiring all 18 hitters he faced while striking out 15 and throwing 74% of his pitches for strikes. His performance came just one week after another standout outing in which he worked seven scoreless innings with 18 strikeouts and no walks, further emphasizing his consistency and ability to miss bats at a high rate. |
