The Prep Baseball Louisiana High School Pitcher of the Week highlights the best individual pitching performance for a Louisiana high school player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wedensday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

Week 9 Stats

-Average: .471

-Home Runs: 2

-Doubles: 3

-Runs Batted In: 8

-Runs Scored: 6

The former Senior Future Gamer and Bossier Parish Community College Baseball recruit has been one of the hottest hitters in the state this spring, and he may have put together his best all-around week in Week 9.

Across six games, Hester went 8-for-17 (.471) with 2 home runs, 3 doubles, 8 RBIs, and 6 runs scored, consistently driving the baseball and producing in the middle of the Gators’ lineup.

He also made a major impact on the mound, earning the win against Evangel last Monday after tossing 7 innings and allowing just 1 unearned run on 4 hits with 0 walks and 9 strikeouts.

Hester’s ability to contribute at a high level both offensively and on the mound makes him one of the more complete and valuable players in the state as the postseason approaches.
