April 19, 2026
On Saturday, April 18th, the Prep Baseball Ontario staff hosted it's fourth of four April Future Games Trials with the 4.1826 Ontario Future Games Trials hosted at Future MVP Baseball Lab, in Scarborough, Ontario.
This event featured roughly 40+ prospects in the 2026 - 2029 classes and it was a strong group of players, both on the positional players and two-ways, competing for a spot on one of Canada's two premiere teams heading to the Future Games in late July... The Canadian Future Games team (2028/2029 prospects) and Canada's Senior Future Games team (2027/26 prospects).
Players attending Future Games Trials events also qualify to be selected for other marquee events including the New York State Games (NY), NorthEast Senior Games (NY), West Coast Games (CA), Super Sophomore Games (OH) and more.
All player ran through a full workout that included batting practice and bullpens captured on our TrackMan, as well as 30-yard springs captured by VALD Performance and positional metrics. Over the next several days we'll be highlighting top performers from the event within our post-event analysis. Stay locked into our social media channels over the next several days as we continue to push out video, leaderboards and more.
Earlier this week, we began our post-event coverage within our Statistical Analysis and Pitching Data Dive articles. Today, we will continue our post-event coverage within this Positional Data Dive as we bring you the top TrackMan, Blast Motion and VALD Performance data from Friday's event.

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (AVG.)
HARD HIT %
LINE DRIVE %
SWEET SPOT %
Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.
BLAST MOTION
AVG. HAND SPEED
Hand Speed: The observed speed as measured on the handle of the bat (measured six inches from the knob of the bat). Peak Hand Speed will occur prior to the moment of impact, very close to the commit time in the swing when the wrists unhinge.
AVG. BAT SPEED
Bat Speed: The observed speed of the sweet spot of the bat at impact. The sweet spot of the bat is measured six inches from the tip of the bat.
AVG. ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION
Rotational Acceleration: Rotational Acceleration measures how quickly your bat accelerates into the swing plane. Rotational Acceleration is a good indicator of how you build bat speed by sequencing properly vs. pulling the bat with your hands. The quicker your rotational acceleration, the more power you will have and the more time you have to make a decision at the plate.
AVG. ON-PLANE EFFICIENCY
On-Plane Efficiency: Measures the percentage of your swing where the bat is on the swing plane. Your vertical bat angle at contact establishes the plane for that swing. Plane is a great indicator of making consistent contact and barreling balls.
