Kayden Om, 1B, 2026, Seckinger
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-media-max-width="560"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Great piece of hitting with 2K from 2026 1B Kayden Om. <br><br>Direct path to contact with big-time strength in the physical 6-foot-0, 200-pound frame. <br><br>Smokes this backside for the 2 RBI 2B. <a href="https://twitter.com/PB_Uncommitted?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@PB_Uncommitted</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/SKG_Baseball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SKG_Baseball</a> || <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GAHS26?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GAHS26</a> <a href="https://t.co/7Uq2DLhjWl">pic.twitter.com/7Uq2DLhjWl</a></p>— Prep Baseball Georgia (@PrepBaseballGA) <a href="https://twitter.com/PrepBaseballGA/status/2044551371039396185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 15, 2026</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Key Moments: The Milton offense rattled off 3-runs in the first behind RBI extra base-hits from Jacob Sherrill and Carson Mathews as they didn’t look back from there. However, Seckinger would respond in the bottom half with 3-runs of their own as Kayden Om came through with a clutch 2-out 2 RBI double to even things at 3-3 after 1-inning. Milton added a run in the 3rd as David Bowman doubled and came around to score, extending the lead to 4-3. Milton would then take advantage of a couple of walks and an RBI single from Caelen Frederick in the 4th as they tacked on 3 more runs to make it 7-3. The lone run in the 5th came via a Carson Mathews as he doubled and scored. Things would remain 8-3 until the top half of the 7th as Milton scratched across 3 more as Miller Pierce, Carson Mathews, Davis Nichols, and Jack Mickels all had base-hits, resulting in an 11-3 final.

Avery’s Takeaway: I was finally able to Milton this year and at a perfect time right before the playoffs start. The blend of underclass and upperclass talent in the lineup stood out. 1-9 has the chance to hurt you on any given night. Senior leadership comes via Miller Pierce and Davis Nichols who supply veteran experience to a somewhat younger core. A pair of juniors in David Bowman and Carson Mathews carry huge roles in the offense as well as offering lockdown defense up-the-middle in the dirt. A talented trio of sophomores; Caelen Frederick, Cade McAllister, and Jacob Sherrill make up the top 5 in the order as they all produced in the 11-3 win over the Jaguars. The Eagles will have confidence on any given night in the playoffs backed by strengths in the starting lineup and quality pieces on the mound.

Pebblebrook @ Harrison

Score: Harrison win, 13-7

Standouts:

Breck Hemphill, OF, 2028, Harrison
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It’s just different. 💣<br><br>2028 OF Breck Hemphill continues his massive sophomore campaign.<br><br>Effortless bat speed showing as he unloads on the inner-half CB to LCF for the HR.<br><br>Immense physical tools throughout the 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame.<a href="https://twitter.com/PrepBaseballGA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@PrepBaseballGA</a> || <a href="https://twitter.com/ShooterHunt?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ShooterHunt</a><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GAHS26?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GAHS26</a> <a href="https://t.co/PpkgnnsLBz">pic.twitter.com/PpkgnnsLBz</a></p>— Ian Smith (@IanSmittyGA) <a href="https://twitter.com/IanSmittyGA/status/2044573395975618845?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 16, 2026</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Luke Hutchinson, OF, 2027, Harrison
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Leadoff knocks for 2027 OF Luke Hutchinson.<br><br>Quiet setup with fast hands in a compact path and present bat-to-ball skills.<br><br>Fires this to the pull-side for the hard-hit 1B.<a href="https://twitter.com/PB_Uncommitted?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@PB_Uncommitted</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/HHoyaBaseball?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@HHoyaBaseball</a> || <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GAHS26?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GAHS26</a> <a href="https://t.co/qNYgTrySOH">pic.twitter.com/qNYgTrySOH</a></p>— Prep Baseball Georgia (@PrepBaseballGA) <a href="https://twitter.com/PrepBaseballGA/status/2044588366985863293?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 16, 2026</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Key Moments: The Falcons would come out strong and push across 2 runs due to aggressive base running and some timely hits from Tyler Holmes and Sinsaire Walker. Hoyas would tie it instantly in the 1st buoyed by an RBI 3B from Breck Hemphill. Both teams would go back-and-forth through the middle innings adding runs on both sides before Harrison would take control in the 6th, adding 5 runs thanks to putting seven runners on base including 3 XBH.

Ian’s Takeaway: The breakout year continues for Breck Hemphill, who has led this offense all spring long and would put a cherry on it with the elusive cycle. The sophomore would go 4-for-4 while adding 4 RBI to pace the region win. The lineup was a little mix and matched on senior night but some steady performers showed up again for Harrison with Luke Hutchinson and Cole Beasley adding two hits a piece in the win. The season hasn’t gone the way they’d like for Pebblebrook but the top half of the lineup can be impactful with plus speed and athleticism in the likes of Tyler Holmes, Sinsaire Walker and Damian Phipps who would add 7 hits, 5 R and 5 SB among the trio.

Key Moments:
Lovett opened up the game in a loud way when East Carolina commit, Jack Rees hit a backside home run in the first at bat of the game. Holy Innocents answered back in the bottom half to make it 2-1 on some free bases by Lovett. From there it was a back and forth pitchers duel between Bryce Floyd and Cortland French. Lovett had some momentum in the 3rd after a Jack Rees double. Rees was on 3B with 1 out and Floyd make a really athletic play on the mound where no one was at 1B and he dove and tagged the runner out, while keeping Rees on 3B. Brody Fernadnez was excellent behind the dish for Holy Innocents and came up with a big put out in the 4th on the runner trying to take 2B. From there Lovett had the bases loaded in a tie game and Holy Innocents worked out of it to send it to the bottom half. Taylor Fuller came up big with a triple with 1 out. Xavier Wilson then delivered a rocket off the green monster to make it 4-2. From there Robby Chiaffredo shut things down on the mound and the Golden Bears would end up exploding for 8 runs with singles by Ryan Dunham, Grant Bradley and Dawson Radaszeski. Dunham would deliver the final blow for the walk off run and the region championship.

Huddy’s Takeaway: This was a must see game on the schedule for region championship and another needed look at some uncommitted and underclass talent on both sides. Bryce Floyd bounced back from some shaky starts early in the season and had his best stuff with a championship on the line. He is a must see arm in the sophomore class with a big summer on the way. As for the junior class it was another quality look at uncommitted Grant Bradley that is having a statement year as one of the best uncommitted juniors in the state. I was pumped to see Chiaffredo out of the pen and despite the short look he is going to be one to see over the summer. This Holy Innocents line up is littered with talented sophomores like Ryan Dunham who had a multi hit day and Jude Smith that has some really good AB’s at the top of the order. Brody Fernandez was a new name I got to see and was solid behind the dish and also took some really good swings. On the other side it was good to see Junior Future Gamer Chase Michelson in the heart of the order as a freshman. It will be exciting to see both of these teams in the playoffs with Holy Innocents having a real chance to make a run at a state title.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The high school baseball season is officially underway. This is our favorite time of the year and we can’t wait to cover the state from now until the state championship. Be sure to to be tuned in daily for content on the season.

Everything high school baseball related will be on the GHSA tab on our website. It can be found HERE. This will include the Power 25, Classification Rankings, weekly scout blogs and more.

Here we will take a look at the games our scouts went to from the previous day and highlight key moments, standout players and our takeaways from the game.

Lagrange @ Trinity Christian

Score: Trinity Christian win, 7-2

Standouts:

Colin Knowles, 2B, 2026, Trinity Christian

Fran-J Confesor, 3B, 2027, Trinity Christian

Zazil Schoop, C, 2027, Trinity Christian

Woods Carter, OF, 2028, Lagrange

Riley Cockrell, SS, 2028, Lagrange

Key Moments: The Lions jumped out to an early lead in the first, thanks to a Thomas Thigpen RBI double as the offense didn’t look back from there. Colin Knowles added an RBI double in the 2nd to make it 2-0. Lagrange answered back in the top of the 3rd as they tied it at 2 a piece. Riley Cockrell got Lagrange on the board with an RBI single and Adam Burns tied it with a SAC Fly. Fran-J Confesor jumped all over a fastball during his at-bat in the 3rd inning and sent a towering shot over the LF fence to make it 3-2. Trinity tacked on 2 more runs behind a Zazil Schoop 2 RBI 2B extending the lead to 5-2. Schoop would come through later in the 6th inning for an RBI single and another run came across as well to make it a 7-2 victor for Trinity.

Avery’s Takeaway: I was able to get the chance to see Trinity to open the season and furthermore in a late season victory before playoffs. This is a put together lineup that could make noise in the private classification if they can carry over the momentum and get quality innings on the mound. Upperclassmen Colin Knowles, Thomas Thigpen, Evan Osterman, Fran-J Confesor, and Zazil Schoop power this offense and could do damage on any given night. This was our first look at Lagrange this season and it was clear to see that they have a couple of talented sophomores that will be the core to this team for the coming years led by names like Riley Cockrell and Woods Carter.

Dalton @ Cartersville

Score: Cartersville win, 14-4

Standouts:

Cooper Reynolds, OF, 2027, Cartersville

David Vargas, SS, 2028, Cartersville

Charles Chappelle, OF, 2026, Dalton

Cole Crawford, C, 2027, Cartersville

Nate Russell, RHP, 2026, Cartersville

J.B Nichols, RHP, 2029, Cartersville

Key Moments: Dalton would come out hot thanks to a Caine Woods leadoff barrel and error would put him at 3B quickly before a Charles Chappelle sac fly. Canes would answer back in a hurry with the first 6 batters reaching base in the bottom half of the inning with Cole Crawford, Cooper Reynolds, and Nolan Elrod all adding RBI hits to take the early 4-1 lead after one and wouldn’t look back from there. 5 more runs in the 2nd and 3rd would put things out of reach early with Elrod, Crawford and David Vargas all coming through with more RBI swings for Cartersville. Nate Russell showed pitchability and ability to escape some jams in the big win. Generated swing-and-miss with all four pitches while striking out 7 over 4.0 IP and JB Nichols was equally impressive to shut the door out of the bullpen with 4 K in 2.0.

Ian’s Takeaway: The offense was running on full cylinders for Cartersville Tuesday night with impact coming throughout the lineup. The trio of Cole Crawford, Cooper Reynolds and David Vargas would be outstanding as they combined 10-for-13 with 5 XBH, 9 RBI, and 6 R while Reynolds would lead the way with his 5-for-5 performance. Nolan Elrod and Brayden Logan provide the veteran leadership while showing the clutch gene often then you see early impact out of underclassmen like Tyler Hickman, Gianni Gandy and more. While the offense has carried this team to a 19-0 record in region play, having a guy you can depend on at the top of the rotation is just as valuable and Nate Russell provides that and then some. Pitch mix is deep with strong command and ability to generate soft contact often with a quality defense behind him. Coach Tucker knows how to get the most out of his team and the Canes are rolling at the right time with their eyes set on yet another final-four run.

Newnan @ Northgate
Score: Northgate wins, 15-5
Standouts:
Max Threlkeld, INF, 2027, Northgate

Cooper Spencer, 2028, Northgate

Sam Lowe, SS, 2027, Northgate

Ben Roche, OF, 2026, Newnan

Key Moments:
Newnan jumped out to an early lead after a leadoff single by Hayes Maginnis. Northgate answered back with a big knock by Cooper Spencer with the bases loaded in the 2nd. Newan took the lead back in the 3rd after singles by Caden Truitt and Joey Pfister and back to back doubles by Ben Roche and Reid Davis. It looked like Newnan was in control early with a 5-1 lead, but Northgate was patient at the plate and rattled off 5 free bases in the 3rd, then Sam Lowe finally delivered a hit that would make it 7-5. Turner Houston and Max Threlkeld would follow him up to cap off a 9 run inning for the Vikings. From there Justin Cosme came in and shut the door on the mound. Junior Max Threlkeld would come through again in the 5th to walk it off (run rule) and take home the region title.

Huddy’s Takeaway:

I was at this exact game and exact series nearly a year ago to the date. The table was turned this year and Northgate only needed to win 1 game, whereas Newnan needed the sweep to win the region. The Cougars dog piled on their field a year ago for the title, so Northgate was ready to cap off their stellar 2 loss season this year and they did just that. This Northgate team had freshman up and down the line up this time last year and now those sophomores are ready for the moment and ready to make a run in the playoffs. There have been seniors like Justin Cosme and Sam Marvin that have really stepped up this year on the mound and at the plate. The Vikings are going to be fun to follow in the playoffs, but be sure not to count out the Cougars as they 2 seed with the experience they have in their state championship run last season.
