Patrick County 6, Halifax County 4
It was back and forth for both teams in this one with key moments until the end. Calvin Lancaster kept Patrick County in the game with his outing on the mound and his two hit day. Mason Cassell had two hits including a single that gave the Cougars the lead in the seventh that would go on to help them win the game. Conner Abbott, Garison Colwell (Patrick Henry CC), and Ryder Milam made contributions for the Comets on the night in their comeback effort.

#3 James River (Midlothian) 2, Cosby 0
Two things defined this game, missed opportunities and Wil Camera dominance. The missed opportunities is true for both sides, with both teams leaving runners on base on a number of occasions, including a unique double play in the bottom of the second when the Rapids had bases loaded with nobody out and only got one out of it. While the Rapids left their fair share on base, Cosby also left more than half a dozen runners on base throughout the night. While there was some offense and traffic that did not amount to anything, the story of the night was Wil Camera on the mound. The sophomore left hander worked 6.2 IP, did not allow a run, scattered a few singles, and made big pitch after big pitch in tight situations. The #3 Rapids remain undefeated at 9-0.

Covenant 4, Grace Christian 3
A low-scoring, defensive-sided matchup between Covenant and Grace Christian with Grace Christian taking an early lead and adding insurance runs in the sixth and seventh. Covenant stayed close by matching the score in the fourth and would end up on top with a three-run seventh inning walkoff to seal the comeback.

#4 St. Paul VI 6, #8 Bishop O'Connell 3
A beautiful Tuesday evening saw a top-10 showdown between WCAC rivals in South Riding. I tight back-and-forth game took place as both teams lined up senior aces for the game, Carter Perdue (East Carolina) for PVI, and Drew Markey (Presbyterian) for O'Connell. Both teams took competitive at-bats throughout and made the aces work. O'Connell scored first opening up a 2-0 lead. Paul VI would take the lead in the third on a Ryan Vaxmonsky double. O'Connell tied it in fifth but left the bases loaded and the game tied. The Panthers took the lead again in their half on another Vaxmonsky double and added a pair of insurance runs in the 6th. Ryan Bahr tossed the last 2.2 innings to lock the game down while also joining Vaxmonsky, Owen Peltier (VMI), and Thomas Jewett (VMI) in having multi-hit games for Paul VI. Kian Kaboli was a home run short of hitting a cycle for O'Connell.

Freedom (South Riding) 3, Lightridge 2
A pitcher’s duel broke out in South Riding in the opener of this week’s Potomac District series between rivals Lightridge and Freedom. Freedom freshman Ian Choi got the nod against Bolts senior lefty Matthew Coleman. Lightridge was able to put up 2 runs in the second to take a lead and Coleman was dominant the first trip through the order. The Eagles got one back in the fourth on a Choi double and then tied the game in the fifth when a Brian Waldrop 2-out flare fell. After a stolen base, Brodie Carver (Shenandoah) ripped a base hit to drive in the go-ahead run. Luke Kozlowski would enter with some traffic in the sixth and close the game out for the Eagles.

Hayfield 6, Edison 1
The Battle of the Birds rivalry saw the Hayfield Hawks scrape out a win over the Edison Eagles 6-1. The first five innings of the ballgame were close, with ‘26 John Dobson and ‘26 Nolan Taylor (Juniata) both turning in quality starts. But in the top of the 6th, Hayfield broke away and wouldn’t look back. The Hawks scored four runs with two outs thanks to a string of singles. ‘27 Mason Archer led the Hawks offense, with a homerun and two RBIs. ‘27 Zyler Munoz led the Eagles offense, going 2 for 2.

Collegiate 13, #2 St. Anne's-Belfield 3
The Collegiate offense hopped off the bus ready to do damage. In the first inning, juniors Sam Settar and Emery Williamson, along with senior Dominic Ivie, went back-to-back-to-back to make an immediate statement. From that point on, the offense never let up. In the third inning, Williamson launched his second home run of the game to push the lead to 12–0, putting the game firmly out of reach. On the mound, junior Matthew Zandler delivered a quality start to help the Cougars stay in control. After five innings, this one ended in mercy rule fashion, 13–3.

Western Albemarle 4, Charlottesville 2
Western Albemarle jumped out to an early lead and never let it slip, holding off any comeback attempt from Charlottesville. In the third inning, freshman Andrew Maslaney drove a line shot into right-center field to extend the advantage. On the mound, Smith Winslow (Washington & Lee) delivered a quality start, earning the win with 5.1 strong innings of work.

#15 Greenbrier Christian 3, Maury 1
Greenbrier Christian Academy took down Maury 3-1 in a tight pitcher’s duel, fueled by a strong outing from Clayton Moore, who tossed 4.1 hitless innings. The Gators got on the board in the third inning on an RBI groundout by Cam Kaliher, which proved to be the difference. Ryan Watson led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, while also contributing on the mound in relief. Maury couldn’t break through against the Gators error free defense.

St. Christopher's 2, Trinity Episcopal 1
It was a pitching duel all the way to the sixth inning when the offense came alive. Christian Gray (Hampton-Sydney) gave a quality outing for the Saints giving them six strong innings only allowing one run. Jalen German (Coastal Carolina) also threw six quality innings for Trinity, racking up thirteen strikeouts. Palmer Berry, Jaerron Johnson, and Toney Smith had big innings in the sixth to help the Saints get on the board and win the game late.

Walsingham Academy 6, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 2
Scoring was hard to come by until the last two innings, when both teams combined for seven of the eight total runs on the day. Walsingham struck first in the third inning when Matthew Swanson (JMU) grounded into a fielders choice and scored Brayden VandeSand. In the top of the seventh the Saints from NSA would capitalize on a leadoff error. The Saints would score on a Colin Winslow single that would bring home Jayden Stafford, who reached via error. In the eighth the Saints would score again, this time on a Stafford single. Walsingham would answer in the bottom half, tying it on an Edward Holstrom single and the Trojans would later end this one on a walk off grand slam off the bat of Andrew Cole (Randolph-Macon). Matthew Swanson threw 7.2 innings while striking out twelve. Andrew Cole was 2-4 on the day with the four RBI’s from his game winning grand slam.

#14 Highland 10, Jackson-Reed 0
A hot Wednesday afternoon saw an interesting matchup between Highland and a traditional DC powerhouse in Jackson-Reed. This game would be all Highland, led by senior lefty Matthew McCauley (Richmond), who would strikeout 9 in a 5 inning, 2-hit shutout. Sophomore Wright Broadhead keyed the offense with 2 hits and 4 RBI, including a home run.

McLean 17, Washington-Liberty 3
This one was all McLean, with the Highlanders beating the Washington-Liberty Generals 17-3. The Highlanders struck early, putting up three runs in the first, then added on late, with a big 5th, 6th, and 7th innings. ‘26 JW Riggins (Georgetown) led the way, going 2 for 4 and dominating in 4.1IP. ‘26 Dan Ockerman (Georgetown) reached base five times, ‘26 Reid Turner (Shenandoah) went 3 for 5, and ‘26 Ryan Riggins went 2 for 4 to help the Highlanders offense. For W&L, ‘26 Hank Thomson (Rhode Island College) had a quality start on the mound and ‘27 Reid Schwartz reached base four times.

Franklin County 12, Cave Spring 9
The scoring was plentiful in a rivalry matchup with the Cave Spring Knights hosting the Franklin County Eagles. The scoring would start early in the first with a three-run home run from Franklin County's junior Alexander Crowl. The Eagles would tack on two more runs in the second. Cave Spring answered back in the third with an RBI Double by junior Evan Lee (Longwood), followed up by a sacrifice from junior Logan Meinster. Franklin County made a big push to extend their lead in the fourth with Alexander Crowl bringing in four runs with a second consecutive home run, and two more runs were brought in that half off of bases-loaded walks. Despite the six runs that Cave Spring brought in during the latter innings, the early surge from the Eagles would prove to be too much. Notable performances from Cave Spring’s junior Evan Lee (Longwood) with a 3-4 with 2 doubles with 3 RBI’s, and junior Sam Urgo with a 3-4 day with two singles and a 2-RBI Double.

#25 Miller School 8, #17 Battlefield 6
In a highly anticipated matchup, the Mavs and Bobcats did not disappoint. Miller School struck first with a RBI single from Jackson Rosales (Ferrum). Battlefield answered back with three of their own. A Christian Gomez (UNC) double scored one, and his double was followed up with a two run blast from Teagan Leach (Virginia Tech). We would remain at 3-1 until the bottom of the fifth when MSA erupted for five runs. Two walks, three singles, a double, and a sac fly would open this one up in favor of the Mavs. John Michael Szefc (Virginia Tech) delivered the game-tying knock and Kason Wagner (Coastal Carolina) put Miller ahead with a 2-run single in the inning. The Bobcats would answer back with two of their own, making it a one run game, but the Mavs were not done. They would extend back to a three run lead in the bottom of the sixth off of three walks and two singles. In the top of the seventh, Teagan Leach would leadoff the inning with his second homerun of the game, but that would be all the scoring for the Bobcats in the seventh, as they left the tying run on base.
