Notable Recaps from Monday
Faith Academy (10) vs. Saraland (0)
Faith Academy rolled to a 10-0 win over Saraland on Monday, combining for a dominant shutout on the mound. The Rams broke things open in the third inning, scoring five runs behind key hits from Eli Quinley, Riley Wilemon, and a two-run home run from Tucker Richardson. Christian Freeman earned the win as part of a four-pitcher shutout, with Brodie Wilson, Wyatt Lloyd, and Lathan Boddie also contributing scoreless innings to limit Saraland’s offense. Quinley and Richardson each drove in two runs, while Richardson added a multi-hit performance. Faith Academy also applied pressure on the bases with five stolen bases in the win.
Opp (7) vs. Andalusia (6)
Opp walked it off in a 7-6 win over Andalusia on Monday, capping a back-and-forth game with late drama. Andalusia built an early lead and later regained it in the seventh, but Opp answered in the bottom half. After tying the game on a hit-by-pitch, Will Jackson delivered the walk-off RBI single to secure the win. Jackson led the offense with three RBIs, while he, Parker Burgess, and Everett Marcotte each recorded multiple hits. Marcotte also provided key relief work, tossing three scoreless innings to keep Opp within striking distance. Despite Andalusia’s 13-hit effort, Opp did just enough late to complete the comeback victory.
South Lamar (13) vs. Hubbertville (7)
South Lamar pulled away late to defeat Hubbertville 13-7 on Monday, using a big sixth inning to break the game open. After a back-and-forth start, the Stallions erupted for seven runs in the sixth, highlighted by extra-base hits from Thakcer Richards and Mason Hardin to create separation. Richards led the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 day, while Hardin and Levi Foster each drove in three runs. South Lamar finished with 12 hits and continued to apply pressure with quality at-bats throughout. On the mound, the Stallions pieced together the win with contributions from multiple arms, holding off Hubbertville after the late offensive surge.
