2026 Oregon HS Scout Blog - Tigard vs Lake Oswego
April 20, 2026
The Oregon Scouting Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from the Prep Baseball Staff during the OSAA season. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable. We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times, and more.
On Wednesday we headed over to Lake Oswego for their 2nd game vs Tigard in the 3 game league series. Tigard took care of business in the first match-up on Tuesday so the Lakers needed to get back to even on Wednesday if there was any chance of winning the series. The home team got hot early with the offense and added a stellar performance from their impressive rising sophomore on the bump.
TIGARD VS LAKE OSWEGO (4.15.26)
TIGARD
This was a tough match-up for the Tigers, especially on offense as they could only generate 4 total hits in the game as they pushed across 3 runs.
‘26 SS Andrew Hergert brought in 2 of those 3 runs late in the top of the 7th with his single up the middle. Finished 1-3, 2 RBI on the day. Stayed through the ball nicely on this swing with a flatter, more level path through contact. Hands high and back with a toe tap load before starting forward stride. Solid athlete on the INF who stays light on his feet and can move well laterally.
‘26 3B/P Audie Stroum added the other RBI for Tigard as he finished 1-2, RBI, BB. Barreled up a single through the middle to score a runner from 3rd in the top of the 2nd. Hits from a wider, more spread base without a forward move to load. Bat starts vertical/upright before hands show a slight push back and slot into a lower position to launch the swing through the zone. Rotates against a strong front side at contact.
Uncommitted ‘27 INF Cade Randall notched the only XBH on the day for Tigard with a late oppo 2B into RF that helped set up their first 2 runs of the game. Randall is an athlete to watch in the class. He features a lean, slender frame with a wider upper half that can carry more strength. At the plate he stays tall with a rhythmic/athletic load and a highly efficient swing path that covers the zone. Defensively he can stay low on the INF with mobility in the hips and a consistent hinge to stay down on the ball. Has a chance to make some big gains as he develops.

LAKE OSWEGO
There’s a lot to report on the Lakers offense in this one as they scored 9 runs on 10 hits while adding 8 BB. 6 total players recorded hits in this game with a pair of uncommitted juniors each collecting 3 hits apiece.
Starting with uncommitted ‘27 OF Kell VanDehey. The physical 6’4 athlete was 3-4 on the day with 2 2B, R and 3 RBI. Sets up tall in the box with an upright, slightly open stance before using a short, quick forward stride to establish his hitting base. The hands stay tight with a subtle push back load and he uses an early barrel turn to get on plane and stay through the baseball. Noticeable separation allows him to lag the swing through the zone and maintain his posture into contact. Big bodied athlete who displayed some really intriguing hitting traits and has the chance to add more power.
From yesterday…the Lake Oswego bats got hot early in this one, exploding for 7 runs in the first 2 frames as they cruised to a 9-3 win over Tigard #uncommitted ‘27 Kell Vandehey (Lake Oswego) was the standout bat going 3-4, 2 2B, R, 3 RBI

Uncommitted ‘26 INF Ryder Lemm showed well last summer at an ID event and has a very polished game. Went 3-4 with a RBI. Used the middle of the field well on this look with a couple base knocks into center. ‘Handsy’ type of approach with fewer moving parts in the set-up. Lets the ball travel and keeps hands tight throughout the swing. Defensively he’s got quality athleticism and stays low easily throughout the fielding process.
Additionally, Lake Oswego relied on its strong senior class for more offense as ‘26 Carsten Lemon (Linn Benton), ‘26 INF Hudson Giboney, ‘26 Hudson Hammersley and ‘26 Nick Nazemi all contributed base hits. Nazemi added 2 big RBI in the bottom of the 1st to make it a 3-0 game and help LO breakaway early.
On the mound, uncommitted ‘28 RHP Beckett Heher delivered a standout performance and firmly established himself as an arm to watch in this class moving forward. Finished with a final line of 6.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, ER, 0 BB, 7 K. The 6’1 hurler has a lean, athletic build and proportional length between his upper and lower half. Puts together a clean, athletic move down the slope with an easy arm swing and loose/whippy finish out front at release. Has the look of an arm who will command the zone and should maintain his feel as his physical maturation continues.
