JL Mann 6 Mauldin 4
J.L. Mann held on for a 6 to 4 win over Mauldin on Tuesday after building an early lead and withstanding a late push. The Patriots jumped out fast behind a three run home run from Ashley Shiffer and added on through the first three innings. Mauldin chipped away late, but J.L. Mann pitching and defense closed it out. Shiffer led the offense while the Patriots turned two double plays to help secure the win.

Rhys Torgerson, RHP, JL Mann, 2029
Toeing the rubber at 6-1 185-pounds, the young arm had an impressive outing in a big region win for JL Mann. Has the ability to command the strike zone and compete all game long going 6.2 innings last night. Torgerson attacked all night with 2 different Fastballs and a Curveball. Showcased both a 4 seam and sinker last night, both lived within the 82-85mph range. The 4 seam was able to hold life through the top of the zone, while the sinker ran into the hands of RHH. Both had the ability to miss barrels and create weak contact most of the night. The breaking ball worked well last night in the 72-74mph range. Holding a true curveball shape working from top to bottom in the strike zone getting hitters to swing over the top. A lot to like out of the young arm, clean actions mixed with a high competitive nature on the mound will make for an interesting follow over the next few years!
