Prep Baseball Tennessee Staff

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2026 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 7

+ Cooper Jones (Oliver Springs HS) Jones delivered a strong two-way week, hitting .526 with 10 hits, a home run, and 5 RBIs, while also picking up a win on the mound (5.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER). His ability to contribute on both sides continues to stand out.

+ Cole Tedder (Oliver Springs HS) Tedder continues to dominate. At the plate, he hit .478 with 8 runs and 3 stolen bases, while on the mound he was electric, 9 IP, 20 K, 1.556 ERA. He also turned in a dominant outing on 4/13, throwing 7 innings with 15 strikeouts and just 1 hit allowed.

+ Davis Anderson (Lausanne HS) Anderson was efficient in a complete game effort, going 5 innings with 2 hits, 0 runs, and 6 strikeouts, helping shut down a strong MUS lineup.

+ Jase Johnson (Munford HS) Johnson made the most of his opportunities, hitting .857 with 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases, showcasing both contact ability and speed.

+ Jaxzen Scheidt (Munford HS) Scheidt provided big-time offensive impact, hitting .417 with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 8 runs scored, showing power and run production.

+ Drew McCann (Munford HS) McCann stayed hot, going .545 with 2 doubles, 7 RBIs, and 7 runs scored, consistently driving in runs.

+ Curly Lowry (Munford HS) Lowry added depth to the lineup, hitting .368 with 2 doubles, 4 RBIs, and 6 runs scored.

+ Karter Pledger (Clarksville HS) Pledger had an explosive week, hitting .778 with 7 hits, 8 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases across 3 games. He continues to produce at a high level, now hitting .432 on the season with a 1.166 OPS.

+ Easton Sullivan (Greenfield HS) Sullivan had a monster performance, going 4-for-6 with 8 RBIs and a home run, while also picking up a save with 2 strikeouts on the mound.

+ Will Edwards (Greenfield HS) Edwards was dominant, throwing a complete game 4-hitter with 16 strikeouts, allowing just 1 earned run. He also contributed offensively, going 3-for-7 with 3 RBIs.

+ Bryce Green (Chattanooga Christian HS) Green put together a strong 4-game stretch, hitting .462 with 2 home runs, a double, and 5 RBIs, while also going 4-for-4 on stolen bases.

+ Will Fessler (Chattanooga Christian HS) Fessler was dominant on the mound, throwing 6 innings of shutout baseball with 13 strikeouts, continuing a strong season.

+ Weston Willeford (CPA) Willeford turned in one of the top performances of the week, throwing a 7-inning no-hitter with 5 strikeouts and just 1 walk.

+ Easton Housewright (GCA) Housewright had a huge offensive week, hitting .727 with 3 home runs, 8 hits, and a 2.406 OPS, consistently driving the baseball with authority.

+ Rhett Hayes (Giles County) Two-way impact, hitting .333 with 3 doubles and 3 RBIs, while also earning a win on the mound (4 IP, 7 K).

+ Case Daly (Giles County) Hit .455 with 5 hits and 4 RBIs, providing consistent offense.

+ Hudson Nivens (Giles County) Hit .400 with 4 hits, 3 runs, and 4 stolen bases, impacting the game with speed.

+ Drew McLemore (Giles County) Picked up a win, going 5.2 IP with 6 strikeouts.

+ Owen Jarrell (Giles County) Hit .375 with 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases, adding depth to the lineup.

+ Bowen Combs (Meigs County HS) Combs delivered a standout week, hitting .615 (8-for-13) with a home run, triple, 2 doubles, 5 RBIs, and 5 runs scored, showing complete offensive production.

+ Kole Carter (Cumberland Gap HS) Carter impressed as a true two-way contributor on the mound he struck out 12 over 6 innings, and behind the plate he threw out 2 runners. Offensively, he hit .545 with 6 RBIs and 4 stolen bases.

+ Sean Birkofer (PCA) Hit .636 with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases, leading the offense.

+ Josiah Allen (PCA) Logged 11.1 innings with 14 strikeouts, picking up 2 wins on the mound.

+ Drew Patterson (PCA) Added 8.2 innings with just 2 runs allowed, helping secure wins over FRA and MTCS.
