Round 1
Wednesday
Jayden Bibby, 1B, 2028, Kell
It was a statement showing for the sophomore across the first two games of the series. Made his presence felt consistently while batting cleanup as he picked up 4-hits with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and 4 RBI’s as well. Immense strength and physicality in the box at 6-foot-1, 220-pounds while exhibiting a strong feel to hit. Works from a simple trigger with loads of strength in the lower half to stay balanced through the zone. Shows present bat speed with excellent length and above-average feel for the barrel while displaying the ability to hit the ball line-to-line with authority. Creates easy leverage through the zone with strength in the hands/wrists for huge impact at contact to match. Advanced approach always stands out with a keen eye for the zone and quality pitch recognition as well. Looked the part at first base as he made multiple tough plays throughout with soft hands and showed the ability to pick it out of the dirt. The profile continues to grow for Bibby and he is a must know name for Kell as they look to continue their playoff run.
Landen Lunsford, 1B/3B, 2026, Locust Grove
L.B. Wallace commit. The senior continues to stack outstanding showings in the box with each look this spring. Big-time strength in the physical 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with real impact in the barrel. The RHH picked up four hard-hit barrels for knocks with a pair of double and two singles as well. Lunsford creates excellent length and separation from a well-connected RH. Ability to catch the ball out front consistently with strength in the hands/wrists from an on-plane path. Stays well-balanced in a slight hanging while transferring weight well through the zone with very minimal wasted effort throughout. Lunsford made a real impact in the heart of the order across a series split and will look to stay hot in a must win game 3. Power is present but the feel to hit regularly stands out and Lunsford has a real chance to make an impact when he steps on campus from day one.
Evan Brand, SS, 2027, Kell
Georgia Tech commit. It was quite simply the Brand show in all facets across the doubleheader. Paced the offense out of the lead-off spot as he went 6-for-8 with two doubles, 4 singles, 2 walks, and 3 RBI as well. Highest level bat-to-ball skills show often with immense barrel feel to match in a mature approach and minimal chase as well. Present athleticism in the lean 6-foot-1, 182-pounds and boasts an extensive track record of hitting. The switch-hitter is a mirror image from both sides of the plate while staying short to it and consistently keeping the barrel on-plane. Easy rhythm in a toe-tap load as he stays well-balanced through the zone. Advanced pitch recognition stands out as he looks to do damage early or spoil tough pitches and work deep counts. Brand has done nothing but hit in each look over the years and the stock only continues to grow for the future Yellow Jacket.
Jamir Johnson, OF, 2026, Locust Grove
The Cincinnati commit put together a stellar showing in the box during GM2 as he paced the Wildcats to a win. Went 5-for-5 with 3 singles, double, triple, and an RBI while using the whole field extremely well. Immense projection in the tapered 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame with an abundance of projection. The RHH gets the front foot down while maintaining balance and huge impact at contact that shows often. Above-average bat speed and barrel accuracy stand out in a physical, compact path with minimal wasted effort throughout. Explosive, controlled hands with ability to find contact throughout multiple parts of the zone. Shows a potential plus defensive profile in centerfield as he showed extremely well across the series. Boasts excellent instincts with tons of range that shows often to track balls into both gaps while flashing present above-average arm strength. Johnson showed well amongst staff this Spring and the draft helium is quite easy to see as he very well could hear his name called this July.
