Hitter of the Week: Week 7

Cory Wuttke OF / Hamilton, AZ / 2027

Cory turned in one of the most complete offensive weeks we have seen this season, doing the bulk of his damage against one of the top teams in the state in Casteel. Across two games in that series, Cory consistently found barrels and delivered impact swings, including a two home run performance that helped fuel a high scoring win in one of the most competitive matchups of the year.

The 2027 outfielder showed the ability to impact the game in multiple ways, combining extra base damage with on base presence and run production. There is a confident look in the box with a controlled, aggressive approach, allowing him to get to pitches he can drive while still maintaining feel for the barrel. He followed up his big series against Casteel with another efficient performance against Highland, reaching base in all four plate appearances and continuing to create offense.

Performances like this, especially against high level competition, continue to elevate Cory as a name to follow in Arizona’s 2027 class moving forward.

Highlights: 9-12, 2 HR, 2 2B, 6 RBI, 7 R, 2 BB

Pitcher of the Week: Week 7

Thomas Pascanu LHP / Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ / 2026

Tommy earns Pitcher of the Week honors after delivering one of the most dominant outings of the season, overpowering the opposing lineup with a complete performance from start to finish. The Arizona commit worked seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out 13, showing the ability to both miss bats at a high rate and completely control the pace of the game.

The 2026 left hander attacked hitters with confidence, consistently getting ahead in counts and putting them away once in advantage. The combination of swing and miss ability and command was on full display, as Tommy limited traffic all game and never allowed the opposition to find any rhythm offensively.

Outings like this reinforce the upside and polish already present, and Tommy’s ability to dominate a lineup in this fashion makes him one of the more reliable arms in the state heading into the postseason.

Highlights: 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 13 K
