Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. The Ironmen offense was led by Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit), who went 2-for-3 with two singles, a stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Gavin Swartz (2026; Indiana Commit) went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, a run scored, and two RBIs. Lucas Beaty (2027) also drove in an RBI single and Owen Knox (2027) hit a sacrifice fly. More importantly, Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State Commit) took the mound and pitched a five-inning no hitter, striking out ten batters.

No. 3 Lincoln-Way East defeated Lincoln-Way Central by the score of 4-0. Matt Safarik (2026) led the Griffins offense by going 3-for-3 with three singles, a stolen base, a run scored, and an RBI. Casey Mikrut (2027) and Jacob Newman (2026; Lewis Commit) each hit a sacrifice flies. Colin Bettenhausen (2027) tossed six strong scoreless innings and struck out 12 batters.

No. 4 Huntley defeated Cary-Grove by the score of 11-6. The Red Raiders offense was led by Gavin Rettberg (2026), who went 2-for-2 with a walk, hit by pitch, double, three-run home run, stolen base, and four RBIs. Joey Lengle (2027) went 3-for-4 with three singles, a stolen base, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Tommy Gasner (2028) went 2-for-4 with two singles, two runs scored, and two RBIs. John Artinghelli (2028) also got on the board with a sacrifice fly. Liam Nash (2027; Houston Commit) pitched four innings and struck out eight, which earned him the win.

No. 5 Lockport shut out Stagg by the score of 7-0. Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis Commit) led the offense for the Porters by going 1-for-4 with a fielder's choice, two-RBI single, stolen base, and three RBIs. Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State Commit) went 2-for-3 with a triple, single, walk, and two RBIs. Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue-Northwest Commit) went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, a run, and an RBI. Austin Winge (2027) got the start and delivered four shutout innings and struck out six, which earned him the win. Anthony Farina (2027) threw three scoreless frames in relief and also struck out six.

No. 8 triad shut out Civic Memorial for the second time this week, this time by the score of 7-0. Kade Rocca (2027) led the Knights offense with a two-RBI single. Keegan Seipp (2027; Xavier Commit) drove in an RBI single and scored a run. Matt Morris (2028) pitched six scoreless frames and struck out four.

No. 10 Lane Tech routed Taft by the score of 11-0. The Champions shut out Taft for the second time this week. Jacob DeVinney (2026; St. Mary's (MN) Commit) led the offense by going 2-for-3 with two singles, a hit by pitch, and two RBIs. Matt Young (2026; UW-Whitewater Commit) came off the bench and hit a two-RBI triple and scored a run. Tanner Toback (2027) and Isaiah Martin (2027) both hit RBI singles in this contest. Martin also stole two bases to cap off his performance. Charles Lust (2027) delivered four shutout innings and struck out six.

Jacobs took down No. 12 McHenry 6-5, thanks to a walkoff double by Cooper Gulgren (2026; Wisconsin-Stout commit). Brock Vincent (2028) and Luke Flaskamp (2027) each collected two hits and a run batted in for the Golden Eagles. George Donze (2026; Wisconsin-Stevens Point commit) got the start and the win on the mound, going all seven innings, allowing five runs, while striking out three. Landon Clements (2027; Illinois-Chicago commit), Carver Cohn (2028), and Kaden Wasniewski (2027; Louisiana State commit) each had a double in the contest for the Warriors.

Waterloo took down No. 14 Mascoutah by the score of 10-2. Austin Martin (2027) led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 game, including three singles, a solo home run, stolen base, three runs scored, and four RBIs. Trey Conrod (2027) provided a two-RBI single while Cannon Richard (2027) drove in a two-RBI double. Carter Jones (2028) pitched a quality start by tossing 5.1 innings and striking out two to earn the win.

Riverside-Brookfield took down No. 15 Lyons by the score of 7-4. The Bulldogs scored all seven runs in the first inning. Marco Villardito (2026) led the offense with a two-RBI double. Connor Dominick (2026) and Tommy Bogdan each drove in RBI singles. Ronnie Murray tossed six innings and struck out seven batters to earn the win. For Lyons, Tommy Georgelos (2026; Eastern Illinois Commit) led the way with a two-RBI double while EJ Kuhlman (2027) knocked in an RBI single. Owen Cypress (2027) had a nice 5.1-inning relief appearance with seven strikeouts.

Columbia took down No. 17 O’Fallen 5-4 on a walkoff single by Owen Worcester (2027). Seven starters recorded a hit for the Eagles offense, highlighted by three hit performances from Jack Leitschuh (2027; 3-for-4, R, SB) and Eli Simmons (2027; 3-for-3, 2B, RBI, BB). Ayden Sepich got the start on the mound and went five innings allowing four runs (three earned), while striking out five. Worcester came in for the last two innings and didn't give up a run. Anthony Perez (2026; Central Alabama CC) collected three hits for the Panthers.

Sandburg defeated No. 18 Lincoln-Way West 7-6 on a walkoff single from Aiden Barrera (2026; South Suburban JC). All nine hitters tallied a hit in the game for the Eagles with six players tallying multiple hits. Solomon Mitchell (2027) went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Quinn Durkin (2027) added two hits, one RBI and one run scored, Barrera added two hits, one RBI and one run scored, and Daniel Spinella (2026) tallied a double with one RBI. For Lincoln-Way West, Quinten Lange went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored.

No. 19 Lemont defeated Shepard by the score of 10-0 in six innings. Grady Garofalo (2026; South Suburban JC) went 1-for-3 in the game with three RBI and one run scored. Mike Kalkowski (2027) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBI, one run scored and a walk, Ethan Kelby (2026) went 1-for-1 with two run scored, and Cannon Madej (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC) went 1-for-2 with one RBI and two walks. On the mound, Madej threw a complete game (6 IP) no-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Wheaton-Warrenville South knocked off No. 20 Geneva 10–3 to avoid a three-game sweep, behind a solid performance from Jacob Conover (2026; Missouri Southern commit). Conover was 2-for-3 with a HR, two RBI, BB, and a SB at the plate, while tossing 5.1 innings on the mound, giving up two earned runs. Caleb Mease (2028) and Reece Franks (2026; Wheaton College (IL) commit) each collected two hits to power the offense. Despite the loss, Nelson Wendell (2027) was a perfect 4-for-4, including a triple.

Cottone also fired three innings on the mound, struck out three, allowed one walk, one earned run and two hits. Sean Thomas (2027) went 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk, and Jackson Vance (2026) added a double, two RBI and one run scored. Cade Cunningham (2026) also tallied a hit in the game with two RBI and one run scored.

Gavin Hartigan (2028) went 2-for-3 in the game with one RBI, and Landon Thome (2026; Florida State) added a double with two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Eddie Donnelly (2027) fired 5.1 innings, struck out eight, walked one, allowed one run and six hits.

RJ Duncheon (2026; Illinois State) and Auggie Lohnes (2026; Illinois Central) each homered in the game on back-to-back solo home runs to give the Raiders the 2-1 lead in the top of the third. Duncheon went 2-for-2 in the game, also adding a double, one RBI, one run scored, and two walks. On the mound, Dalton Oakman (2026; Monmouth) threw a complete game with one strikeout, two walks, one run and two hits allowed. For Dunlap, Brett Alkire (2027) went 1-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored, also starting on the mound, tossing three innings, striking out five, walking none, allowing two runs and three hits. Landon Gray (2026; Luther College) fired three innings in relief, struck out six, walked one, allowed no runs and two hits.

Harlem took down Boylan Catholic 4-1. Jackson Heideman improved to 5-1 on the year with the win, striking out 11. Finn Stoval notched the save while also going 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs. Cruz Cook added a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored.

Saint Viator took down Deerfield 10-5. Sophomore Andrew Albritton earns the win and Jack Corliss picks up a save. Alec Harer went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Tanner Beyna (2B, RBI), Jonathan Tschanz, Brandon Thomsen (3 RBI) and Jack Corliss (RBI) all added two hits apiece as well. Hunter Lockefeer added a single and two RBIs.

Morton took down Pekin 14-4. Hudson Lovell powered the offense with five RBIs - while Owen Adams added three RBIs.

Alleman took down Sterling 10-9. Freshman Everett Smith improved to 3-1 on the year with the win on the mound. Robbie Wolfe added three innings with just one hit allowed, no runs and two strikeouts. Brady Williams and Adam VanMeighem each had two hits at the plate.

Westmont took down Walther Christian Academy 15-3 to improve to 13-8 on the year and 2-0 in conference play, making that eight wins in a row. Merrick Boyd earned the win on the mound. Alex De La Garza threw it well on the mound as well and was 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Nikolai Baldwin homered to help power the offense. Ethan Kossak and Max Meza each had two RBIs. Alex Meyer added four runs scored.

Father McGivney Catholic 13

Father McGivney Catholic took down Routt Catholic 13-3. Isaac Wendler was a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, five RBIs, three runs scored and a walk. Omar Avalos added a home run, double three RBIs, two runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases. Patrick Gierer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three stolen bases. Jacoby Danco threw it well on the mound with four innings of one-hit ball, not allowing an earned run with three walks and two strikeouts.

Richards beat Reavis 10-2. Carson Maranda (2B, 3 RBI), Luis DeAvila (2B, 2 RBI), Ryan Golinski (2 R), Jake Kirk (R) and Noah Escobedo (RBI, R) each had a hit apiece.

St. Charles East took down Glenbard North 11-1. Andrew Evans threw it well on the mound with six inings, scattering five hits with no runs, one walk and three strikeouts - earning his fifth win of the season. Dylan McCabe was 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored. James Feigleson was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Evans, Tyler Phillips and Sean Groselak each added two hits apiece. Saints are now 13-4 on the year and 5-1 in the Dukane Conference.

Barrington took down Conant 8-0 behind Jack Postma, who fired a complete game with just two hits allowed, one walk and 11 strikeouts.

Prairie Ridge recorded its second straight shutout of Burlington Central, winning 4–0 to improve to 13–2 on the season. Colt Zaleski (2027) took the mound for a Wolves pitching staff that hasn’t allowed a run in 22 consecutive innings. Zaleski went all seven innings, allowing just three hits and one walk, while striking out five. Seven players recorded a hit for the Wolves, highlighted by a two-hit, two-RBI performance from Cameron Davis (2027), while Beckett Breseman (2027) added a double.

Crystal Lake South defeated Crystal Lake Central 9–3 to complete the two-game series sweep. Carson Trivellini (2027; Illinois commit) led the way for the offense, going 3-for-3 with a HR, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. Nolan Dabrowski (2026; Wisconsin-River Falls commit), Coleton Bondi (2027) and John Morgan (2028) each collected two hits for the Gators. Devin DeLoach (2026; Northern Illinois commit; 4IP, 4H, 3R, 2ER, 5K) and Tanner Maurer (2027; 3IP, 2H, 0R) combined for a solid performance on the mound.

Hampshire defeated Dundee-Crown 6–2 to earn a split in the two-game series. Lucas Prange (2028; 4.1IP, 3H, 2 R, ER, 6K) earned the win, and Tyler Lacke (2027; 2.2IP, H, 0R, 0BB, 2K) got the save in relief. Gavin Weston (2028; 2-for-3, RBI, 2R, BB, SB) and Santino Sauer (2028; 2-for-3, 2B, 2RBI, R) led the Whips offense. Kaden Klancnik looked good in relief for the Chargers, going three scoreless innings, only allowing a hit and a walk.

Monticello shut out Salt Fork 10-0. The Sages offense got it done early. Cole Basak (2027) went 2-for-2 with a double, single, hit by pitch, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Jake Motesegood also hit a double and single and knocked in two RBIs. He also stole a bag in this contest. Jax Bailey (2028) tossed four shutout innings and struck out three.

Freeburg defeated Salem by the score of 7-1. Dane Johnson (2027) led the Midgets offense with a two-RBI double and a sacrifice fly. Carson Miller hit a single and an RBI double for this contest. Liam Scaiefe (2027) pitched six strong innings and struck out eight batters.

Alton shut out Red Bud by the score of 4-0. Donavon Ducey (2027) and Grant Ely both hit RBI doubles for the Redbirds. Ely also hit an RBi single in this contest. Anderson Kaufmann (2028) delivered four scoreless frames and struck out six. Parker Wendle recorded a nine-out save while only giving up two baserunners.
