Early this week, Prep Baseball has been in attendance for a pair of intriguing matchups. On Monday, Bellarmine Prep rode a stellar pitching performance en route to a 3-0 victory over Silas. On Tuesday, Graham Kapowsin won a close game on the road against Olympia. Below are scouting notes on standout players from each game.
Bellarmine Prep vs. Silas (4.20.26)
Bellarmine Prep
'27 RHP Joshua Morales (Uncommitted)
The uncommitted junior was the story of the game in this one, throwing 6.2 innings of shutout ball to help secure the Bellarmine Prep victory. The highly skilled arm took a big step forward at PNW Preseason All-State this winter, carrying over into a great in-game look on Monday. The lean-framed 6'3 arm moved with deliberate pace through his wind into late intent down the mound, throwing from a whippy arm action into a high 3/4 slot release. The fastball touched 94 MPH early, sitting more 88-92 to start. The velocity dipped at times when trying to land the heater for a strike, but bumped back up in the late innings, sitting 88-91 in his 7th inning of work. Morales leaned on the FB heavily but did mix in a CB at 75-78 MPH to change speeds late in counts. The mechanical operation has tightened up somewhat recently, and despite working through some hit and miss command early, Morales really settled in and dominated beginning to end. Final line: 6.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 10 K.

'27 INF Calvin Dossett (Uncommitted)
In a game where both offenses were limited, Dossett managed to fill the stat sheet and turn in a quality performance at the dish. The junior reached base twice with a single and a walk, scoring a run and delivering an RBI late in the game. A taller build with strength evenly distributed, Dossett moves with controlled actions in all facets, profiling as a left-sided INF long-term. At the plate, the righty stays stacked on a bent rear side, carrying a loose, fluid bat path with a longer two-handed finish through the zone. The 6'3, 200 pound prospect posted upper-90's exit velocities at PNW Preseason All-State and is an intriguing follow for recruiters moving forward.
'29 INF/RHP Owen Schneller (Uncommitted)
A top-ten ranked freshman in Washington, Schneller looked the part in our first live look, displaying physicality and skill beyond his underclass status. An imposing 6'2 athlete with a sturdy-strong frame, Schneller carries bat speed through the zone, punishing a pitch early for a double to straightaway CF. Schneller lifts and separates with the hands as his weight shifts back in his load, carrying a slight arm bar at trigger point with a longer bat path to contact. The righty accelerates through contact with a strong two-handed finish. The power tool should only continue to trend upward as he continues to mature and develop. He also made the routine play at 1B defensively, moving well and displaying arm strength pregame. The freshman has already been into the mid 80's on the bump as well and will be a name to watch for years to come.

'27 C Adrian Rodriguez (Uncommitted)
A compact-framed backstop, Rodriguez handled the high velocity arm well from the catcher position, stealing strikes on the edges and limiting the run game. At the plate, Rodriguez reached base twice with a double and a walk, providing a spark from the bottom part of the order. The offensive approach is more contact over power at this point, with a tighter coil and turn through the zone and a flatter barrel path. Quality, well-rounded performance.

Silas
'26 RHP Cade Owen (Arizona Christian Commit)
Owen kept his team in it as the starter on the mound, throwing 4 innings without allowing an earned run in this one. The taller righthanded arm worked through a steady paced wind, generating layback well with a whippy arm and a low, looser gloveside follow through. The fastball sat 80-84 T 85 MPH, paired with an 11/5 curveball at 67-69 MPH and a shorter slider at 76-77 MPH. The command flashed at times, particularly on the fastball in the early innings. Owen worked around traffic well and limited damage overall, striking out 3 batters in his 4 innings. He also added one of the two Silas hits on the offensive side as well. Important two-way piece for Silas this spring.

'28 1B/RHP Eli Lystra (Uncommitted)
Lystra was a big time breakout performer at the Seattle Preseason ID - Session II showcase this winter, displaying a plus bat to go alongside standout athletic testing. Lystra looked the part in this game despite a quieter night in the box score. A 6'0, 195 pound athlete, Lystra stays quiet at the dish, working short to long with a firm front side at contact. The sophomore did not look overmatched with the high velocity, working a walk and another QAB earlier in the game. Lystra displayed quickness at 1B and could likely move to a corner OF role in the future if needed. Underclassman to circle.
Graham Kapowsin vs. Olympia (4.21.26)
Graham Kapowsin
'26 OF Coleton Brown (Skagit Valley Commit)
The senior had a big afternoon near the top of the lineup, going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI in addition to drawing a walk. The wiry-framed, high-waisted righty worked through a loose-wristed swing at contact with an athletic overall operation in the box. Brown found hard contact for a big two-run double, helping propel the GK offense to a 4-run fourth inning. Brown also showcased a strong arm and longer strides to cover ground in the outfield, though he saw limited action in-game. Important, experienced piece for the Eagles.

'26 INF Blake Gunderson (Edmonds CC Commit)
The stocky-strong power bat got the offense going early for GK, lining a base hit the other way to drive in the first run of the afternoon. Gunderson broke out as a big power threat at last summer's PNW State Games, posting triple digit exit velocities with bat and rotational speed. The Edmonds commit works through a hovering toe-tap load, exploding through the zone to produce power to all fields. He finished 1-4 in this game but nearly left the yard with a long flyout to straightaway CF as well. Gunderson profiles well as a bat-first, corner INF at the next level.
'26 RHP Quinncey Ratteray (Western Oregon Football Commit)
The multi-sport athlete gritted through 5 innings of work on the mound, earning the win as the starting pitcher in this game. Ratteray carries an imposing 6'4 240 pound frame, working through a simple delivery with some rawness present in the operation. The fastball sat in the low 80's with sinking action, with arms and legs coming at hitters to make for an uncomfortable AB. Ratteray also mixed in a loopy 12/6 CB in the mid to upper 60's as his primary offspeed pitch. The command came and went at times, but the senior was able to limit damage and make big pitches when needed, allowing just 1 ER in his 5 innings of work.

Olympia
'28 OF Noah Miller (Uncommitted)
Miller set the tone at the top of the lineup, reaching base 4 times despite Olympia losing a close contest. Miller impressed with a gritty, hard-nosed style of play, The lefthanded bat covered all sides of the plate well with a barrel that stays through the zone, maintaining balance with a quick stroke and a shorter, abbreviated two-handed finish. Miller stuck to the pull side for the most part, jumping on fastballs early to get his damage done. He also scored twice and impressed in pregame INF/OF in center defensively.

'29 INF Elijah Butler (Uncommitted)
Seen at a showcase event this winter, Butler carries advanced power potential and is already a middle of the order varsity bat in his freshman high school season. A 5'10 210 pound righty, Butler DH'ed in this one but showed sound defensive actions in the INF this winter. The swing works to the middle of the field, with a gradual load and stride and lower hands before firing through the zone. The bat speed was on display in-game with a hard hit single to center. Butler added an infield hit later in the game to finish 2-4 overall. Bat-first young player to monitor.
'28 INF Braden Barrett (Uncommitted)
An athletic sophomore with a well-rounded skillset, Barrett impacted the game in multiple ways on Tuesday. The RH bat drove in the first run of the game for Olympia, lining an RBI single the other way. Barrett sets up with rhythmic, loose hands pre-pitch, carrying strength through contact with a controlled two-handed finish. The sophomore finished 2-4 overall. Defensively, Barrett carries twitchy, quick-paced actions with sure hands and a more deliberate transfer to throw.

'27 RHP Peyton Crass (Uncommitted)
Crass flashed on the mound despite some mixed results on Tuesday afternoon. The righthander worked a fastball at 81-85 MPH, generating whiffs on the pitch to all quadrants. The curveball at 72-75 MPH also generated ugly swings at times with late, sharp bite. Crass struck out 9 over 6 innings of work, walking just 1 batter. The compact-framed junior works through a quick-paced wind, hiding the ball well with late intent downhill. A bulldog on the hill, Crass has been a regular this spring, building off of a promising 2025 in which he had a dominant outing seen live by Prep Baseball.
