The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the North Star State.

+ Mounds View keeps checking boxes, moving to 8-0 with a 9-3 win over Roseville. Jack Glancey (2026, OF, UW-La Crosse) led the way offensively, driving in four on two hits, including a two-run double in the fifth. Cooper Caligiuri (2026, C, Uncommitted) added a 2-for-4 day with a double and an RBI. On the mound, Calvin Anderson (2027, RHP, Uncommitted) worked five innings, allowing five hits while striking out seven.
+ No. 2 Cretin-Derham Hall answered after two losses with a loud offensive showing. Davis Fleming (2026, 1B/OF, Minnesota), Harrison Falk (2026, OF, San Francisco), and Joe Fenlon (2026, IF, St. Thomas) each went deep, with Falk adding a double as well. The Raiders move to 4-3.
+ No. 3 Farmington handled Apple Valley 6-1 behind a frontline outing from Ethan Hagman (2026, RHP, New Mexico State). He went 6.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out 12. Matthew Hennen (2027, C, Illinois State) set the tone at the top, going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and Benjamin Fenske (2026, OF, UW-La Crosse) drove in three as part of a 2-for-4 day. The Tigers are now 7-1.
+ No. 5 Edina outslugged Maple Grove in one of the more offensive games of the week, taking it 13-2 behind five home runs. Bode McConnell (2027, SS, Uncommitted) left the yard twice, while Jackson McGrath (2026, SS, Iowa Western), MJ Huss (2027, IF, Uncommitted), and Owen Meyer (2026, OF) each added one. Ari Miller (2029, LHP, Uncommitted) went the distance, allowing two solo shots and striking out four. Maple Grove’s damage came on solo home runs from Preston Berg (2026, IF, Bethel) and Evan O’Dwyer (2026, RHP/1B, Augustana). Edina improves to 4-2, Maple Grove drops to 3-3.
+ No. 8 Wayzata dropped a tight one, 4-3, to Minnetonka in the battle of the lake. Tied 2-2 in the sixth, Minnetonka pushed across two that proved to be the difference. Brayden Colvin (2027, IF, Uncommitted) led Wayzata’s offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. On the mound, Alexander Kakach (2027, RHP, Creighton) gave them five innings of two-run ball with seven strikeouts. Wayzata moves to 5-1.
+ No. 9 Prior Lake needed extras but found a way, beating Burnsville 5-4 in nine. Ryan Block (2026, OF, Augustana) delivered the game-winner with a single up the middle and finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. The Lakers are now 5-2.
+ No. 10 Shakopee continues to trend up, moving to 7-1 with a win over Lakeville South. Cooper Lenz (2027, IF, Uncommitted) reached twice, doubling and swiping two bases while scoring a pair of runs. Jack Stensrud (2028, RHP, Uncommitted) handled the mound, going five innings, allowing five hits while striking out four and keeping Lakeville South off the board.
