Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence routed Fenwick by the score of 16-1. Danny Donovan (2026; UW-Parkside Commit), Daniel Coyle (2026; Lewis Commit), and Dave Campbell (2027) all led the Vikings offense with three RBIs. Donovan had a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and a two-home run game. Coyle went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a stolen base, and a run scored. Dave Campbell hit a pinch-hit three-run home run to end the contest. Samuel Chin (2026; Ball State Commit) pitched a four-inning complete game to earn the win.

No. 3 Lincoln-Way East defeated Lincoln-Way Central by the score of 7-4. Jacob Newman (2026; Lewis Commit) drew a walk and hit a solo home run to knock in his RBI of the game. Matt Safarik (2026) hit a sacrifice fly to knock in his RBI of the game. Casey Mikrut (2027) hit an RBI single to put himself on the board for this contest. Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) tossed 4.1 innings and struck out six to earn the win. Bryson Das (2026) struck out three and did not allow a hit in his eight-out save.

No. 4 Huntley defeated Jacobs by the score of 3-2. Gavin Rettberg (2026) led the way for the Red Raiders by going 2-for-3 with two doubles, including one that knocked in an RBI. He scored the game-winning run on Kyle Ziebell's (2026; lake Land JC Commit) fielder's choice in extras. Sean Dabe (2027) dealt 6.2 innings and struck out seven. Josh Rudnick (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) struck out three and did not allow a hit in his 1.2 inning outing in which he got the win. Travis Dudycha (2026; Heartland CC Commit) retired the final two batters to pick up the save.

No. 5 Lockport defeated Stagg by the score of 9-4. Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue-NW Commit) led the Porters offense by going 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored, and three RBIs. Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State Commit) went 3-for-4 with two singles and a two-run home run. Trace Schaaf (2026; Morton JC Commit) tossed five scoreless innings and struck out seven to secure the win.

No. 6 Libertyville shut out Lakes 5-0. The WIldcats offense was led by Trevor Wallace (2026; Ripon Commit), who went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and two RBIs of the game. Braden Tolzien (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI. Madden Cotts (2027; Bradley Commit) knocked in an RBI single. More importantly, Nico Harper (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit) went the distance with a complete game shutout and punched out six batters.

No. 7 Brother Rice took down No. 9 Chicago Mt. Carmel 4-1 in Illinois's top 10 matchup. Brent Nevils (2026; Xavier (LA) Commit) knocked in an RBI double, Gavin Stanislawski (2027) a sacrifice fly, and Anthony Cartolano (2027) with an RBI groundout to knock in the Caravan's three RBIs of the game. Brayden McKendrick threw a 100-pitch complete game and struck out six batters. It came down to a pitcher's duel as Mt. Carmel's Jake Matise (2026; Lewis Commit) dealt six innings and struck out seven hitters.

Christian Brothers took down No. 8 triad by the score of 8-1. Braxton Yates (2026; Lewis & Clark CC Commit) put up the Knights one and only run of the game on the steal of home.

No. 10 Lane Tech defeated Whitney Young by the score of 7-2. Isaiah Martin (2027) led the Champions offense by going 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a two-run home run. Conor Sullivan (2026) hit an RBI single in this contest. Cruz Warren (2027) tossed six innings and struck out six to earn the win.

No. 11 St. Joseph-Ogden shut out Rantoul by the score of 7-0. The win earned Coach Haley his 400th career win at St. Joseph-Ogden. Finn Miller (2027) led the Spartans offense by going 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, an RBI single, and a run scored. Bryson Houchens (2026; Morton JC Committ) hit a solo home run and drew a walk. Asher Pruemer (2026; Kaskaskia JC Commit) hit an RBI single and drew two hit by pitches and scored a run. Dalton York (2027) pitched four shutout innings and struck out three to earn the win. Jameson Ehler (2028) struck out four in his two-inning relief appearance.

No. 12 McHenry came from behind and defeated Prairie Rudge by the score of 6-5. Bennet Baumann (2026) got the win in relief after throwing the final 2.1 innings. Landon Clements (2027; UIC Commit) hit the game-tying three-run home run in the fifth inning. Then, in the seventh inning, Carver Cohn (2028) hit the game-winning two-run home run to pull out the Warriors victory on the road.

No. 13 Marquette defeated Henry-Senachwine by the score of 20-10. Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC Commit) had a huge performance for the Crusaders when he drove in seven RBIs. He went 4-for-4 including a three-run home run, a bases-clearing double, and a hit by pitch that forced in a run. Griffin Dobberstein (2027) went 2-for-2 with an RBI double, and a hit by pitch & walk both with the bases loaded. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso Commit) hit a sacrifice fly, an RBI single, and a bases-loaded walk. Jaxsen Higgins (2026) hit two doubles, including a bases-clearing double that drove in three RBIs. Anthony Couch (2026; Spoon River JC Commit) pitched three innings and struck out six batters.

No. 15 Lyons shut out Glenbard West by the score of 5-0. The Lions offense was led by Aidan Webster (2027), who went 2-for-3 with two singles, a walk, and three RBIs. Justin Heydorn (2026) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, including one that knocked in an RBI. Tommy Cavaliere (2029) pitched a complete game shutout and struck out seven batters.

No. 16 Edwardsville defeated Belleville West by the score of 2-1. Tony Eberlin (2026) went the distance and threw a complete game with six punchouts in this contest. Andrew McCutchen (2029) hit the RBI double in the second inning. Ty Hunt (2027) provided the game-winning RBI single in the seventh for the Tigers.

No. 17 O'Fallon defeated Belleville East by the score of 8-2. Carson Bauer (2026; Drury Commit) went 2-for-4 with a double, two-RBI single, and a run scored. Lavin Tull (2028) went 1-for-2 with a two-RBI single, a walk, and a run scored. Brayden Robertson (2026; UI-Springfield Commit) went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, a run scored, and an RBI. Landon Dippel (2027) tossed five innings and struck out three to secure the win. Sam McCollum (2026; Drury Commit) came in relief and pitched the final two innings and struck out four.

No. 19 Lincoln-Way West beat Sandburg 16-6. Carson Paulas (2026; 3-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 R), Jackson Mansker (2026; Indianapolis commit; 2-for-3, RBI, 3 R, BB) and Peyton Globke (2026; 2-for-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB) paced the offense in a 16-run outburst. Jacob Howard (2027) got the win on the mound going 3.1 innings allowing two earned runs, also adding a double at the plate. Nick Seaman (2026) led the Eagles with two doubles.

Glenbrook North completed the three-game sweep of No. 23 New Trier, taking the finale 6–1. Aiden Tretyak (2027) threw a complete game, giving up an unearned run on only two hits. Ethan Bass (2026; Wake Forest commit) ripped a HR and drove in two, and Cooper Izenson (2027) hit two doubles and drove in three runs.

No. 24 St. Rita beat DePaul College Prep 5-2 behind a stellar performance from Will Rewers (2026; St. Ambrose commit). Rewers went six innings, allowing one earned run while striking out 10 batters. Ryan Jones (2027) got the save throwing a perfect seventh inning with two punchouts. Jones also collected two hits at the plate. Jayden Hawkins (2027; H, 3 BB) reached base safely four times to lead the Mustangs offense.

No.25 Dunlap shut out Geneseo 8-0 to improve to 16-4 on the season. Tristan Pittenger (2027) tossed 5.2 hitless innings, allowing just two walks while striking out seven. Truman Tyra (2026) went the final 1.1 innings to complete the shutout. Ryder Rennette (2028; 2-for-3, 3B, 2 RBI, R), Eli Michanicou (2027; 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, R, BB) and Pierce Placher (2027; 2-for-4, 2 RBI) each collected two hits.

Auburn defeated Olympia by the score of 8-5. The Trojans offense was led by Ryan Kessler, who hit a grand slam to open up the deficit. Early offense came from Peyton Campbell (2026; Black Hawk JC-Moline Commit) and Kyle Fay. Campbell had the RBi double while Fay hit the two-RBI single in the first inning. Campbell was also on the mound delivering six innings and eight strikeouts.

Aurora Christian shut out Northridge by the score of 8-0. The Eagles offense was led by Jackson Zorger, who led the team in RBIs on his bases-clearing double. Preston Morel (2027) hit two singles and a solo home run to knock in two RBIs. In the fifth inning, Zach Zappia (2026) hit the RBI double while Cristian Huerta (2026; St. Xavier Commit) drove in the RBI single. Zach Zappia pitched a complete game shutout and struck out 13 batters in his outing.

Bartlett held on to defeat West Chicago 7-5. Ryan Smith (2029) and Brandon Pelz (2026; Valparaiso commit) each hit a HR and Mason Leiterman (2029), Dillon Frost (2026), and James Fresso (2027) each collected two hits in the contest. Joe Kennedy (2026) was sharp on the mound going five innings, allowing two runs and striking out seven.

Cary-Grove defeated Crystal Lake Central by the score of 13-7. Canyon McKinney (2026; Carthage Commit) led the Trojans offense by going 3-for-4 with a single, double, a two-run home run, stolen base, two runs scored, and four RBIs. Mason Klimek (2028) went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple, two singles, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Oskar Freund (2026) hit a two-RBI triple. Joey Pristera (2028) hit a two-RBI single. Matthew Loeffel (2029) got the win in relief by tossing three innings and striking out three hitters.

Burlington Central took down Hampshire 5-3. Aidric Arndt threw a complete game gem, allowing just one earned run and striking out eight. Jaxton Bovee (2B, 3 RBI) and Liam Schultz (2 BB) both had two hits on the day.

Champaign Central defeated Mattoon by the score of 13-0. Will Ciciora (2027) collected two hits, one being a triple, with three RBI. Ryan Pipkins (2028) and John Timmons (2027) each went 2-for-2 with a triple, one RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Brody Krone (2027) threw a complete game (5 IP) shutout with five strikeouts, one walk and one hit allowed.

Crystal Lake South defeated Dundee-Crown 13-7 behind two home runs from Nick Stowasser (2027). Stowasser finished with six RBI on the day. Carson Trivellini (2027; Illinois commit) and Michael Silvius (2027) each collected two hits. Ryan Morgan (2028) shut it down out of the bullpen going three innings, allowing just one unearned run.

Deerfield took down Evanston 5-3. Liam Connolly fired three innings with four hits, one earned run and a strikeout. Jesse Feldman earned the win with two innings, allowing just one hit, no earned runs and strikingo out two. Sean McNair notched the save with two innings of one-hit ball, not allowing a run and striking out three. Matthew Willner was 3-for-4 to pace the offense, adding a double and two runs scored. Chase Golding was 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs and a run scored. Drew Wiener and Grant Wilson were both 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Effingham defeated Farina South Central by the score of 10-0 in five innings. Jude Traub (2027) collected a pair of double and RBI, also scoring once. James Wendt (2028) went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBI, and one run scored, and Carter Braddy (2027) added a double with one RBI and one run scored. On the mound, Westin Hayes (2028) fired a complete game (5 IP) shutout with eight strikeouts and two hits allowed.

Tuesday's second game of the series was suspended for darkness with the Maine South leading 18-11 before the Titans came back on Thursday in the sixth and seventh to win 21-18. The Titans scored nine runs in the first inning on 10 hits to take the lead. Maine South fought back before they scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth before darkness hit. The Titans scored seven in the top of the sixth to even the score. In the top of the seventh, Clancy Rogers (2026) hit a three run home run to give the Titans the winning runs. Rogers finished 4-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and six RBI. Jack Stefani (2026) was 4-for-6 with a double, two runs and three RBI. Stefani also closed the game with two scoreless innings and two strikouts on the mound. James Dooman (2026) had four hits including a double and three RBI. Charlie Krauss (2027) added a double, triple and two RBI, while Anthony Nottage (2026) also added two RBI and scored three runs.

Grayslake Central took down Lake Forest 9-1. The host Rams got a homer, triple and four RBI's from Junior Charlie Surowiec. Milwaukee Area Technical College commit TJ Rodriguez allowed one run over 4.1 innings with four strikeouts as the Rams improved to 13-1 on the season. Carson Woods and Jonathan Malloy each had a pair of hits for the Rams who had eight hits on the game

Hinsdale Central took down York 6-1. Max Judge was 2-for-2 with an RBI, run scored and hit-by-pitch. Patrick Connors was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Illini West defeated Canton by the score of 7-5. Cash Jones (2027) went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one run scored. Aiden Hocker (2026) added two hits, one being a home run, with two RBI and one run scored.

Lake Zurich took down Saint Viator 7-6. Purdue commit Brandon Thomsen (2B, RBI) and Tommy Beyna (4 RBI) both had great days at the plate, each finishing 3-for-4. Tanner Beyna (2B, R) and Jacob Oberwise both had two hits as well.

Monticello defeated Bloomington Central Catholic by the score of 16-5 to improve to 21-0. Grant Kiger (2027) went 2-for-2 in the game with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and two walks. Jax Bailey (2028) added a pair of hits, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk, and Cole Basak (2027) went 2-for-4 with a triple, double, RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Heyden Romano (2026) added two hits and four runs scored, and Matthais Rudolph (2027) went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple, one RBI and three runs scored. On the mound, Dawson Gaistros (2027) fired a complete game (6 IP) with nine strikeouts.

Newton took down Paris 11-4. Drake Wolf earned the win on the mound. Quincy Fulton powered the offense going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two stolen bases. Gavin Meinhart also swatted a solo home run in the contest.

Providence Catholic grabbed the victory over Loyola Academy with a walk-off on Thursday. Cameron Klene (2027) led the Providence offense going 4-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Landon Ehman (2026; Kankakee CC Commit) homered to left field in the bottom of the seventh to seal the win for Providence. Will Quinn (2026; Land Lake JC Commit) earned the win for Providence. Allowing zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one.

Reavis took down Bremen 12-6. Jonathan Liesen became the all-time career leader in home runs, as well as the all-time leader in runs scored after he went 2-for-4 with a home run, RBI and two runs scored. Juan Avila threw it well over his 6.1 innings, striking out eight - also going 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored. Parker Zasada added a home run, along with two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. Anthony Perez paced the offense with three hits, along with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Adrian Ortega (RBI, SB) and Blake Stefanek (2 2B, RBI, 2 R) both had two hits on the day.

Westmont took down Peotone 11-1. Ricky Yenkin earned the win on the mound with eight strikeouts. Peter Papadopoulos was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Jake Carney and Alex Meyer each had three RBIs.

3B Ben Swanson (2027) was 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBIs and three stolen bases to ignite Willlowbrook (15-4) en route to an 11-5 victory over Downers Grove South. The win was the Warriors' 14th consecutive and completed a sweep of the Mustangs. Swanson struck out five in three innings to earn the save for winning pitcher Bobby Biggs (2026; Wartbuurg). Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona) had an RBI triple and LF Alex Dew (2026) was 2-for-4 with three RBI.
