Dorman  6     Hillcrest 5

On the back of some strong starting pitching, Dorman outlasted Hillcrest 6 to 5 on Senior night at Dorman. Hillcrest came out swinging with 2 first inning runs, only to be matched in the bottom half with a solo shot from States Farr and a two-run bomb from Braylon Dean. Logan McGarity paced the Cavs over 4.2 IP, followed by Christian Musselwhite to close it out over the final 2.1. Dorman held off the late Hillcrest rally to secure the victory.

States Farr, 2026, SS, Dorman
Coastal Carolina recruit. Wiry & athletic frame with present strength. Switch hitter. At the plate shows balance and rhythm in pre-swing movements from the left side. Twitchy hand speed in the zone with a short path. Does a nice job clearing his lead arm allowing for an adjustable barrel. Posted a 4.22 run time to 1B on a ground ball and stole a base. Also fielded six chances at short to each side with ease, doesn’t get sped up. Energetic on and off the field. Excited to watch him compete at the next level.

Logan McGarity, 2026, RHP, Dorman
Uncommitted. Proportionate 6-0, 190-pound frame with some present strength. Repeatable delivery with long action and a tough L3Q slot. Noticeably lower slot than previous appearances, may give up some velo but adds funk. Scattered 7 hits over 4.2 IP but settled in nicely after the first with his two-pitch combo showing the ability to limit hard contact. FB and SL tunnel from low slot effectively. Heater was 83-86 with heavy run and sink, can really tie up RHH at times. SL showed big sweep at 72-74, tough to control consistently but is a nice second option off the FB. Reliable arm.

Landin Harris, 2027, OF, Hillcrest
Uncommitted. Present physicality to the frame at 5-11, 180-pounds. Good night at the dish with three knocks out of the leadoff spot, including a big triple in the later innings to keep his squad within shouting distance. Mostly upright stance with hands high above the head. Sinks nicely into back hip, limits head movement and fires a flat barrel with fast hands through the zone. Shows good acceleration out of the box as well.

Will Nalley, 2027, RHP, Hillcrest
SMC recruit. Long and lean 6-4, 165-pound frame. Intriguing righty with above avg arm speed with a H3Q slot. Higher effort delivery with moving parts doesn’t allow for consistent command of pitches but still some upside with the frame and arm speed. FB was 86-88 with average life in zone and got knocked around by good hitters. More velo in the tank. SL at 76-78 has a chance to be a good weapon if he can develop even average feel for the pitch, shows sharp movement and is used to both RHH and LHH. Also flashed a CH at 80-82 with strong fading action. Solid arsenal.
