The 2026 VA/DC high school season fully and officially kicked off on March 16th. We continue our weekly awards for a couple different areas, including today's featured Team of the Week. Team of the Week will run each and every Tuesday. This story will highlight a team that had a strong week, which usually includes at least one win over a Power 25/quality opponent.

Week 1 Team of the Week: St. Anne's Belfield
Week 2 Team of the Week: Oakton Cougars
Week 3 Team of the Week: Independence Tigers
Week 4 Team of the Week: Walsingham Trojans
Week 5 Team of the Week: Miller School Mavericks
Week 6 Team of the Week: Bishop O'Connell

Week 7 Team of the Week: Central Virginia Patriots (CVHAA)

The Central Virginia Patriots are your Week 7 Team of the Week. The Patriots are coming off of a really strong week at the Homeschool World Series in Florida, going 5-1 on the week. CHVAA not only had a big week last week, but they are 12-2 since April 1 and 24-4-1 on the season. They have wins over in-state teams like Hanover and Trinity Episcopal, while also having narrow losses to St. Christopher's and Cape Henry in mid-March. While there certainly seemed to be contributions from players up and down the lineup, names like Collin Felts (Milligan), Josiah Pulling, Kyle Tomajczyk, Loudon Trask, Tim Seitz, and Zach Bergh seemed to be offensive standouts on a near everyday basis. The Patriots' offense scored 40 runs last week, compared to the 17 runs they allowed on the week. Blake Pearson picked up two wins on the week and worked ten innings while allowing only one hit in those two starts.
