Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week: Logan Wierzba

By: Josh Fields
Assistant Scouting Director, Wisconsin

Iowa Western CC recruit Logan Wierzba has long been a top arm for the Phantoms and arguably put up his best outing of the year so far. Firing a seven innings shutout while striking out 17 batters and allowing just one hit and a walk. For his efforts, Wierzba has been named this week’s PItcher of the Week.

The southpaw fired a seven inning shutout against conference rival De Pere, filling the zone at over a 75% rate and attacking first pitch while putting together an abundance of whiffs throughout the outing striking out 17 opposing hitters.

An upside left-hander in the senior class that will remain a follow as he heads to Iowa Western CC, the stuff is capable of making quality hitters swing and miss in zone while still possessing a high ceiling and more room to grow into. Tough look from the left-side with a starters ceiling if he continues to fill the zone at a high rate.

Scouting Report

3/19/25

+ LHP Logan Wierzba (West De Pere, 2026) is a long and lean 6-foot-1, 183 pound uncommitted left-hander in the state’s junior class. On the mound, the arm action stands out, athletic with looseness and whip through release. Also showing feel to repeat his delivery and work on time and in line to the plate. Showing a four pitch mix, the fastball plays with life out of the hand in the mid-80s (T86.7 mph), showing a two-seam with occasional run. The changeup stands out as a potential go-to pitch with heavy and late running action averaging -22.3 inches of run. The curveball plays with two plane break in the low-70s and showed feel to land the pitch in the zone.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
