Last weekend saw the conclusion of the 2026 VISAA Playoffs with the semifinals on Thursday and Friday and Championship Saturday, all played at Shepherd Stadium in Chesterfield. See recaps and video highlights of Saturday's Championship Games below. Also be sure to see our recap of Friday's semifinal action.

VISAA III Championship

#25 Walsingham Academy 10, Southampton Academy 0

It was another dominant showing in the title game for Walsingham as the Trojans won their eighth straight State Championship. They took control of this game early and didn’t look back. They scored in every inning including a five run second innings. Chandler Howlett (VMI) was a spark plug at the top of the order with two hits and two RBI’s on the day. Luke Rains and Drew Weddington had a double each to contribute to the offense. Matthew Swanson (JMU) got the start for Walsingham and threw five shutout innings and picked up nine strikeouts. David Brantley, Grayson Holland, and Ethan Webb contributed with each having a hit for Southampton Academy.

VISAA II Championship

#24 Highland School 4, 11 Greenbrier Chrisitan 1

There wasn’t much offense to start this one from both teams as pitchers had some success early. Clayton Moore got the start for Greenbrier Christian and had some traffic in his outing but minimized the damage. Blake Thomas and Jax House were contributors offensively for the Gators. Jake Gunning (William & Mary) took advantage of one pitch in the third inning and had a two-run home run to put Highland ahead. Kaden Zimorowicz (JMU) gave Highland the quality start that they needed. He threw a complete game, only allowing one run and struckout eleven.

VISAA I Championship

#5 St. Paul VI 7, #3 St. Anne's-Belfield 6

This was a battle through the end as both teams had chances to win this game. The Panthers got on the board in the first from a Thomas Jewett (VMI) RBI single and Aiden Gallagher (James Madison) sacrifice fly. Ryan Steeper (Washington & Lee) would answer back with a solo home run in the second. He would add two more home runs to his day to keep the Saints close. Will Yow (Virginia) had two hits on the day as a catalyst at the top of the order. The Saints would come back and take the lead in the top of the sixth from a Mikey Poncy single. The Panthers would answer back in the bottom of the sixth with an Aiden Gallagher triple that knotted things back up. Holden Colio would hit a one out double in the bottom of the seventh to have the game winning run on second. Cole Karas would be the hero as he hit a walkoff single to make the Panthers the VISAA DI champions.
