2026 Indiana Player of the Week: Week 4

Indiana's Player of the Week award will be handed out each Tuesday during the spring. We heavily rely upon coaches submissions for each week's award, so please submit candidates each week to [email protected] via email.

After a dominant performance on both sides of the ball by '26 Gannon Grant earned him Week #3 honors, SR RHP Hudson DeVaughan takes this week's award after he posted his second no-hitter of the spring... 


Week #4 Player of the Week

Hudson DeVaughan RHP / Mooresville, IN / 2026

+ DeVaughan takes Week #4 honors after tossing his second no-hitter of the spring against Perry Meridian. He went five innings, stuck out 12, and was just one walk away from going perfect. This award is a culmination of his season to this point as he now has a win-loss of 3-0, has zero earned runs in 16 innings pitched, has only allowed 2 hits and 2 walks, and now has struck out 49 of the 64 batters he has faced this spring if his scrimmage outing is included. 


Honorable Mentions

+ Matthew Berry, C, 2026, Frankfort, Franklin College recruit: Berry went 9-for-13 last week including five XBH (2B, 3B, 3 HR). He collected 12 RBI's as Frankfort went 3-0, and he capped his week with a walkoff double vs Danville on Saturday. 

+ Beckett Doane, LHP, 2026, Noblesville, Mississippi State recruit: Doane was apart of a combined no-hitter in his start this week. He went 6.2 IP, struck out (17) and allowed just three walks as his only baserunners allowed. 

+ Isaiah Frank, RHP, 2027, Brebeuf: Frank had a dominant outing versus Hamilton Heights this week, throwing a no-hitter in a complete game win where he allowed just one walk. 

+ Tyler Denny, OF, 2026, Mooresville, Wabash College recruit: Denny went 8-for-13 last week for the Pionners, collecting (4) doubles, (5) RBI, (9) runs scored, and reached base at a .727 clip on his way to picking up his 100th career hit varsity hit on Saturday. 

+ Braydon Hoag, RHP, 2026, Goshen: Hoag threw a no-hitter against Mishawaka, pitching (7) innings, allowing (0) hits, (1) walk, and (7) strikeouts on only 81 pitches.

+ Jake Winger, 3B/RHP, 2026, McCutcheon, Indiana recruit: Winger, a top 10 player in Indiana's senior class, hit .500 last week, picked up a double, reached base at a .727 clip, and also threw (5) scoreless innings on the bump where he allowed just (1) hit, (0) walks, and struck out (12). 

+ Camden Murray, RHP/1B, 2029, Kankakee Valley: In his first varsity start as a freshman, Murray struck out (5) batters on his way to a no-hitter, where he allowed just two baserunners on a pair of walks.

+ Trey Eldridge, Pitcher, 2026, Northview: Eldridge was perfect in his start this week, striking out (12) with no hits, no walks, a no baserunners. 

+ Axton Beste, Catcher, 2027, Bluffton, Huntington recruit: Beste went 8-for-13 last week, collected a pair of doubles, a pair of homers, with (5) RBI and (3) runs scored in total for the week. 

+ Griffin Morgan, 1st Base, 2026, Bluffton High School, University of Northwestern Ohio recruit: Morgan is the second player from Bluffton to make this list this week after he had (6) hits last week, with 5/6 going for extra-bases (3 2B, 2 HR). He had (5) RBI and scored 4x. 

+ Dillon Long, LHP, 2026, Columbus North: The Bulldogs made some noise last week including a big win over Floyd Central. Long working (9) innings, and allowed just (1) ER in those nine innings. He went 1-0 for the week with (1) save. 

+ Jaxson Johnson, INF/C, 2026, Brownstown Central: Brownstown Central remains as one of the few unbeaten teams in the state and Johnson was a big part of their success last week. He went 5-for-9 with (4) doubles, (6) RBI, (9) runs scored, and reached base in 13-of-16 trips with an .813 OBP. 

+ Brogan McClellan, LHP, 2027, Gibson Southern: McClellan and the Gibson Southern staff had a huge week, as they now climbed inside of our 3A top 5. In two appearances, he went 1-0, working (9) IP, allowed just (3) hits, (4) walks, and (0) ER, along with striking out (17) batters. 

+ Kolton Schmitt, RHP, 2027, Gibson Southern: Schmitt threw a five inning no-hitter in a win over Princeton. For the week, he went 1-0, struck out (12) in (6) innings pitched, and allowed just (1) baserunner. 

+ Drew Fredenburg, SS, 2026, Shenandoah, Indiana Wesleyan recruit: Fredenburg went 4-for-7 last week, including clubbing a pair of homers. He collected (5) RBI, (6) runs scored, and reached base in 9 of 12 trips (.750 OBP). 

+ Brady Vince, OF/LHP, 2027, Dekalb, Huntington recruit: Vince turned in a huge all-around week, going 7-for-13 (.538 AVG) at the plate with (3) singles, (2) doubles, and (2) home runs. The junior also picked up (10) RBIs, scored (6) runs, and added (3) stolen bases. On the mound, he logged (8) innings across two appearances, finishing the week (1-0) while striking out (7).

+ Jackson McDaniel, P, 2026, Perry Meridian, Olney Central recruit: McDaniel had a big start against #17 Mooresville as he handed them their first loss of the spring. He threw a complete game, allowed just (6) hits, (2) walks, and (2) ER, along with striking out (12) batters. 

+ Christian Wessel, INF/RHP, 2029, Avon: The freshman had a big hand in a 4-1 week for the Orioles. He went 6-for-13 on the week with three doubles and six RBI. Wessel also collected a win on the mound, beating #15 HSE, allowing (1) run and (4) hits while striking out (8). 

+ Hudson Mills, OF/LHP, 2026, Saint Francis recruit: Mills batted .461 (6-for-13) with five runs scored, 12 RBIs, two doubles, and three home runs last week. He also struck out (12) in (5) innings of work on the mound, allowing just a pair of earned runs.
